SMART takes control of the mouse for a split second every so often.

I'm attempting to surf in CSGO and SMART keeps taking control of the mouse (I believe whenever the mouse moves in SMART, but I'm not 100% sure) for a split second, causing me to lose control.

Is there a fix to this?

SMART won't ever take control of your mouse. I think you mean the window is grabbing focus?

If that's the case, just keep stealing focus back away from it. Eventually it'll just sit in the background and flash yellow.

Yes, that's what I meant. Even if I leave it, the issue continues to occur (multiple times every few minutes; it's frustrating). It's to the point where I really can't play any other game while SMART is running, because I'm just going to end up screwing the script through wrong inputs.

Don't leave it. When SMART takes control click somewhere on the desktop. Don't minimize SMART, just click somewhere else to take focus away from it.

Eventually, it'll stay in the background and flash yellow like programs do when trying to get your attention. And then it won't try to take focus anymore.

exactly this, this can take quite some time though.

I do this. It doesn't work. Even after 30+ minutes I still have the same issue.

you are probably clicking the window or doing something then adc, try walking away from the computer for 10 minutes and come back, it should stop trying to grab focus

It's currently been minimized for 5 minutes. If I can see my taskbar, it's flashing like I should be. Yet it still takes focus every 30 seconds or so. I'm not clicking on it.

DON'T minimize it, already said this. Just click somewhere else. Keep it visible, just not the active window.

If you minimize it, it won't work.

Same issue.

Same issue.

Let's back up a bit, I might be misunderstanding the issue.

Your problem is that every so often, SMART will take focus. What this means is that the window, no matter if it's minimized or in the background, will jump to the front. It will sit on top of every other window and demand your attention.

You mentioned CS:GO in your OP, I assume you're playing this in fullscreen.

Thusly, this issue probably manifests itself as SMART trading places with the game client possibly 1) causing CS:GO to minimize or 2) appearing on top of CS:GO.

After this happens, SMART is of course the active window. Any keyboard (or mouse, if SMART is disabled) input will go to SMART.

Is this the issue you're having?

Very close. The only difference is that SMART doesn't actually come to the top - it'll sit behind a browser (on either my first or second monitor) and all inputs will go to it until I click back in the original window (whether that's fullscreen CSGO, DotA, League, etc), even if the SMART screen isn't in front.

@keepbotting

minimizing the SMART client doesn't matter, give it enough time and it will stop trying to auto-grab focus

take it from me, I know how annoying it can get while reading manga online :P

It's never stopped trying to grab focus for me. Is there anything else I can try? This is infuriating.

OK I read through this thread and think I understand your problem because I was experiencing something similar. Which script are you running? For me this was happening only when I was running ineedbot's woodcutter with specific input parameters. Changing locations/trees that I was woodcutting solved this problem for me.

I'm running Ashaman's Bonfire script.

Ampd Up may be right. This might be an issue with specific scripts, although I can't imagine why. Try running a different script?

adc

At the very least, both Ashaman's Bonfire script nor a very simple thieving script have the issue.

I have no idea whether this was script related or not, but my issue has gone mostly away. I now have the issue you guys describe (with SMART taking focus every time it clicks in game). Frustrating, but at least it goes away after 20-ish clicks.

Nevermind, the issue is still happening, it's just far less pronounced.

SMART is a fickle little program. It can occasionally give some headaches, but it's pretty much indispensable.

I honestly don't know what to tell you at this point aside from "use a VM" which I despise and so won't actually suggest that.

What OS do you run?

W7.

The only thing left I have to suggest is using a 3rd-party application to minimize SMART to the tray. RBTray works for Windows 7, is free, open source, and very small.

So there's no way to actually prevent SMART from grabbing focus? I too have the issue where it never gives up. I can't type or do anything fullscreen while I'm running scripts, defeating the purpose of SMART in the first place… I'd rather avoid the overhead of running a VM.

Try my suggestion above. Relegating SMART to the system tray might alleviate the issue.

What OS are you on? 32/64 bit? Version of SMART?

I know this sounds dumb, but I had this problem, and I just had to make sure that I pressed minimize on the smart window, the console window, and the SIMBA window. That should work.

I'll get around to installing that soon and I'll get back to you.
