Gravedigger solution? 0.0

I understand people hate gravediggers but what I don't understand is the reason you guys don't prevent it.

A profile picture(avatar) is like ones online identity, it's what makes you unique, allowing the ability to express yourself in a way words cannot describe. The desire to have one is huge and understandably people use any method to get one… Spamming or what you guys call, gravedigging.

If it were I in charge of the srl forums I would give all users whether young, old or pubescent the ability to showcase themselves in the form of an avatar. I believe this would 100% lower the rates of forum spam and thus creating a healthier environment which would solve a huge annoyance to senior members.

Now I admit, I can't fathem any reason as to why you would take away ones online "ID" and you may have a genuinely excellent reason that I have failed to see. So please, If you have the missing Lego block to my masterpiece do speak up.

Cheers :)

Ps. Written at 11:30pm… A tad tired.

TLDR: People spam for the rewards and that makes the forum more "active"(reason for the restrictions), but you guys hate it and consistently point that out. I proposed they take away the basic restrictions for avatar to help prevent and lessen the spamming you guys want(forum activity) but hate(gravedigging).

EDIT: Sorry for not conveying it well in my original post, I'll put it down to sleep or lack of.

So im confused. Is this thread about grave digging or an avatar?

How is an avatar an online identity? Dont we all have forum usernames for a reason? People change their avatars fairly often, but names not so much. So wouldnt we chose to identify with whatever remains unchanged for the longest?

Also, referring to people by their avatars would be more time consuming. Do we call @Justin; mexican rat? what about @grats;? do we call him 'crudely drawn sheriff with revolver'?

Shut up, jet firing missiles! :D

OP: spamming and gravedigging are different things. Forum avatars have nothing to do with either.

How many posts is it you need to get an avatar? Is it 300 like the marketplace lol?

I don't like politics.

You aren't in charge.

I mean it's not like these requirements take any more than 5-10 minutes a day of contributing to the community. It's not particularly difficult, in my opinion, to find current active discussion threads to post on with meaningful material.

I don't think we should adapt to a desire for instant gratification. If you participate in SRL the way you're supposed to, all of these post count thresholds go by in the blink of an eye. If you really want a shortcut, donate 5$ to help cover server costs.

While I don't believe this would affect grave-digging and useless spamming I agree that the point in which avatars are allowed should be more lenient. If it were me I'd suggest Junior SRL Members having the option of custom avatars and perhaps registered users being able to choose between the forum's stock set of avatars only.

It's a learning community, not a social one
Besides there being no reason for an avatar/sig in the first place, the staff has always felt you need x amount of posts for them.

Learn enough so you can contribute to threads or create your own asking questions, eventually you'll have enough posts to have your precious avatar…
bumping old threads with random replies "omg that's horrible!" isn't participating in the community, therefore shouldn't count as a post…

But they do, it happens all the time and I believe this is your solution. My reason for posting isn't because "I" personally cannot wait because I plan on making this my internet home. It was because I saw an issue and thought… I have a solution.

I understand completely if this isn't the "right" path for srl and that's okay, I enjoy improving and picking apart things. :)

Good day

People +1 to get in junior member section 90% of the time, not for an avatar
people want to scripts, not to be known in the community
