Help Converting From Scar to Simba

To start, I don't play Runescape. I used Scar, long ago, to make bots for other standalone games (usually Java based). I haven't played them or used my bots in about 5 years. I recently decided to get back into my old habits and quickly realized that Scar is dead.

Now my choices are to either get Scar back in a usable state, just to limp through with my old functions… or transfer my workings over to a newer SUPPORTED system. As I've learned a lot since then, I plan on making massive revamps of my scripts (not a good option for a limping outdated system).

This leads me to my main point of inquiry: what's different that I need to know?

I can stumble through reworking the functions for language changes without too much issue, but there are key things that I don't know if Simba even supports.

Back in the day, my game of choice learned to identify scar by the process name, making disguise() a NECESSARY item. I need to know if I can pull off similar functionality in Simba. I'm leery of how bluntly window's process says "Simga: [wizzup http address]". This would have to go.

Does anyone know if this is possible in Simba?. Any other general tips for the transition would be appreciated as well.

Thank in advance,

Bill

disguige() works in Simba (presumably exactly as it did in SCAR - don't know, never used)

disguise('Not a bot');

To get the basics of Simba, I suggest you read through this: https://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=58935

In case anyone stumbles across this and desires similar changes to the file name (as paranoid as I am)…

There's a free program "Resource Hacker" that can modify the .exe file and strip the file description (or change to whatever you want).

Disguise() successfully changed the process name, but at least in windows 8.1 it was slated in a drop-down under the file description that did not change.
