RuneMate Opinions?

Stumbled across RuneMate today whenever I was messing around on sythe…

Should I chance a reflection bot, or should I continue to patiently wait for Obscurity's OpenGL tutorial?

I tried it out. I started a script and then runescape crashed. The End.

I will tell you my personal experience with the bot, I set up a noob account, level 3, fresh off tutorial island to chop regular tree's, It did not last 5 minutes before it was banned due to macroing.

Yet i have been running a level 3 skiller with Simba for about 18 hours a day for almost 3 weeks now and no ban.

This bot has one major flaw. Their solution to the issue of multiple gamepacks, was to distribute a single gamepack where they know the correct field references.

This will result in a rather quick ban if you aren't supposed to have that pack.

you could just do both? :p

Are you sure about this? I can remember them uploading your gamepack to their server at one point if they didn't have the hooks for it.

Unless I'm horribly mistaken, the level of interaction possibilities presented by both OpenGL and reflection are similiar.

I wouldn't trust one of those random bots anyway. How long have they been around? <One year, surely. Who runs it, and why? Are they backed by a company, employing lawyers (a la powerbot) seeing as they're reflection and that has been found illegal in the past?

I'd trust arbiter, and reflection is fully legal (Please say your not referring to the nexus lawsuit…)

Nexus, Aryan, I guess. Not sure. Wasn't around back then. Reflection = modifying the game client = illegal. If that's not true than my whole life is a lie

Look into the nexus lawsuit, it was all started over using jagexs icons in the client and reflection doesn't modify the game client, although injection does.

That's just it. Reflection doesn't modify the game client in any way. At all. Like even a little. Lol.

Guess your whole life is a lie.

Reflection on RS3 can still be illegal for other reasons.

Such as.. decrypting or attempting to circumvent the encryption on the inner pack.

But that happens on the users end, meaning it legal for the bot devs. Same reason powerbot inject the gamepack on your pc.

I don't think you understand what you're talking about.

By that logic, Injection would be legal as well because it happens on the client (user end), not the server???

I'm trying to say most of the illegal stuff is on the users end, not the devs end so they can't really be sued

but the developers are still the ones who circumvented the encryption.

You can attach reflection agents after the decryption.
