What are the advantages of botting in opengl over directx?
Can't seem to find a clear answer.

they *should* offload some cpu work to gpu
they're basically different methods (compared to reflection) of reading memory
reflection is reading the java memory.. openGL is reading.. openGL's memory etc
I guess the biggest advantage other than above is.. jagex hasn't touched the territory yet?

I'm sorry, my question wasn't clear! I wanted to know if either directx or opengl is better then the other.

It used to be that DirectX was far superior, then for a little while seemed like OpenGL was leading the pack, however now in modern computing they're pretty much on a level playing field.
I personally use OGL, but you should try both and see which one you like more and stick to it. Checking out resource use between the two on your system is smart too. Also note that some scripts will require one or the other.

directX was never superior to OGL in history..

For RS it was, because OGL didn't load the minimap properly for at least 6 months. Any script requiring minimap walking basically needed a "run in Direct-X only" disclaimer on it. Jagex finally fixed that a few months ago, so it's pretty much the same for everyone now. Something to do with different "black" readings through Simba but that doesn't affect most people (except SPS maps with different blacks).

It doesn't seem to me his post was rs specific, as my reply wasn't.. hence "modern computing"

I was adding RS specific input because OP asked "for botting purposes". Either way, we can agree the for RS it's likely just about the exact same, barring some performance quirks in isolated cases.
