Is the SRL library page fully up to date?

http://docs.villavu.com/srl-6/#

Im looking for a full list of all available commands that can be used in Simba.

Is it better to just look through the options that're in simba/includes/srl-6/lib ? Or is there more options outside of that that're referenced elsewhere.

Sorry if this seems a bit of an odd question, just a newbie looking to see all of the options that're available.

A full list of all functions can be found on the left side in the function list of simba. The SRL documentation is big, but not complete. Most is there, is there something specific you are looking for? I usually just browse through the include if I want to know what a certain function realy does.

@Wizzup?; Wiki? @OP; no it's not up to date on everything but the core functions are mostly up to date.

Don't think so. Even the Simba documentation on wizzup.org is somewhat incomplete - when I need to know what a function does, I'll search it up (from within the Simba functionlist) and look at the example.

You could also keep the SRL-6 repository up in a separate window or something, you can search the entire include from there

Would you like a wiki? We had one at some point. I could set up something again?

Yes please! I'd gladly maintain it and I'm sure others wouldn't mind either.

Preferences for one? I'd prefer moinmoin or trac, but mediawiki is also a possibility.

http://www.wikimatrix.org/compare/Git-Wiki+MediaWiki+MoinMoin+TracWiki

media obviously has most support.. I'd do that or trac from looking at this
(I put gitwiki on there cuz idk what it is lel)

Trac in action: https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki
Moinmoin in action: http://hetgrotebos.org/wiki https://moinmo.in/
Mediawiki we all know. It does some things quite nicely I think, but I dislike that it's a bit hard to keep up to date and has some weird things due to it being written in PHP.

That said, we already use vBulletin. I'm fine with either.

Hell yea! I am all for a wiki. TBH, whatever is easier for ypeople to update whenever new/old functions are added/changed.

Yea that's why I was saying trac or media
trac is postgresql & python which I know you like both.. I only use sqlite & postgresql now

I'd vote media but any of them is also fine by me (except git). Moinmoin and Trac is nice too. I'd take those over git. Doesn't matter though.

git was in my comparison, he didn't list it. I never heard of "gitwiki" thought it'd be good.. but it sucks lol

was just seeing it in the comparison

I like media too, we can always take off the version (if any is shown) and then wizzup doesn't have to update it every week because they update a lot & that was his main dislike it seems (besides php I assume)

I think it's more familiar to people too.. but it isn't really hard to learn how to use a wiki

mediawiki is fine by me, and we already have mysql & php for vbulletin anyway. Bug me a bit and I'll try to do soonish. Just to be clear – I think the documentation still is a useful resource, so what exactly would you like to see on the wiki?

In just my own opinion:

No doubt the documentation is fine, but the Wiki will be easier to contribute to. We could put snippets and explanations of code on there, tutorials and tips and tricks.

It's easier to update the wiki to match the changes in the include than update the main website which I believe should have the documentation for the core functions rather than trying to catch up with all the tweaks and changes to the include.

I'm not sure what others would put on it. But I remember the old wiki, that was gold. I went there for everything and for better more detailed explanations. I used the main site just for the core functions and brief explanations.

I think the documentation should at least be kept up to date – and I don't think it's really all that hard. It's even in the code, no? (At least for per-function documentation). Other text can just be put in the git repo. And github has easy ways to contribute even when git is not installed.

As for the older wiki, I recall putting in a lot of time (with a few others), but always felt it got very little use. That's why I am asking for the kind of content. I have no problems setting is up regardless, but it really helps to seperate documentation, wiki, forums, etc.

A number of users of the forums make high quality posts explaining particular features or intricacies of Simba. More often than not these high quality responses are in response to a poorly titled help thread and as a result are effectively lost.
I feel the wiki would be a great platform to archive this sort of information in an easy to access format.

This is definitely a valid concern. Perhaps this could well be a suck-it-and-see exercise?

Hopefully we can clearly define the type of content to go on there; giving the wiki a goal will surely help.

We had a wiki in the past. It was a platform for spam.

Also, when we were upgrading to vBulletin 4, we were also looking at hosting another wiki, however we found none that integrated well with the forums, or were rather very basic.

What do you mean, integrated well? And as for spam, I guess that is not a problem if you couple it to forum login + ranks. (Which exists for vbulletin+mediawiki)

yes please

I think that's exactly what he meant was using forum credentials to access wiki
