The "There Goes a…" series, from the mid-90s, released on VHS. I watched these for days as a kid. Rediscovered them recently, and there's so many random visuals and dialog and scenes of motion that I remember.

OMFG that castle was so awesome if it's the same one I got when I was 3. It had a little jail cell in which you could place the knights in.

I grew up in rogue river oregon, we had like ~50 people there.. was in middle of the woods. Never owned tv or anything :P
moved to CO when I was 9, just got a computer then never really did anything else LOL

DBGT was a story line to bring back old kid goku's (in dragonball) personality
they did an extremely good job at it, toriyama agreed years later.. and I always thought so too

The Dragonball series shouldn't be praised for more than a crappy dubbed anime that showed younger people the path to better and brighter animes.

SO, Dragonball never really had a beginning as the show's original purpose was to satirize shounen culture. Lots of that humor and such was lost through translation and resulted in an incredibly dry anime that we have a nostalgia boner for.
