SRL Archive - Who Are You ? Who ? Who ?

Hello SRL

As you can see I literally just joined within the hour but after reading a few "Official Business" posts I am already excited to be a part this community. If you are interested in my background or would like to know a little more about me, continue reading!

Background/Interests: I am currently studying Materials Physics at a Wisconsin University and plan on going to graduate school for Electrical Engineering upon completion of my bachelors. I tutor physics and math (I look forward to contributing in the academic help section). I have been heavily involved in a few other forums such as TechPB,DayZ,Reddit and am quite familiar with general forum etiquette. My main interests are in science and art. When not doing academics I enjoy producing electronic music, though I'm not very good, it is a fun hobby (can give soundcloud if interested). I am also involved with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

My thoughts on RS: Personally, I have never really thought of RS as an enjoyable game with any sort of entertainment value -other than watching my friends scream profanity's at eachother when PK'ing- due to its grind-centered mechanic and infact i've pretty much stopped playing most "MMORPG's" because of this cookie-cutter grind-fest layout but nonetheless I've always been interested in botting and gold farming. Previous games that I have put considerable time into have been Fallout (series), Morrowind, Knights of The Republic (series), Halo 3, CoD 4, Assassins Creed (series), Rift, DayZ.

My goals for joining SRL: To be completely honest I am getting in to botting for the challenge and experience of scripting as well as turning a small profit that I can invest in other ventures. I never really got in to programming so I will probably suck and there will be a huge learning curve as well as money lost but this seems interesting so I'll have a go!

p.s. Any words of advice for this noob? Am I in this for the wrong reasons? Is it worth the time? Thanks.

Hi and welcome. Well simba is very eazy and programming languge lape which we use also eazy to understand. I can say as a guy similar to you know hadnt programming experience it really makes me have some fun writing script, and got no really big troubles with scripting. Everyday learning something new. My advise should be read guides first, to prevent inventing bicycle again. There are lots of usefull plugins already made and functions written. So first few days just take a look and note usefull functions and plugins, maybe learn how to use them. Start with a simple script. Also being patient is the key too, dont give up after first ban wave, at start you may have some rough ban waves while you learning basics.

Welcome to simba!
