Tried everything and still no idea what's wrong

So I need some serious help. I've been trying to find the answer to my problem for months.
So here's what's wrong: it doesn't recognize that the client window has opened and I get the message "waiting up to 5 minutes for Runescape to load" –> which turns in to all 5 minutes going by. And I know what you're thinking 'graphics aren't set up right' because that's what everyone keeps telling me. So, by now I've uninstalled and re-installed simba more times that I can count at this point (and like…completely wiping away any traces of it) each time following the graphics setting very, very carefully.
When I go to the graphics options on the client itself, instead of directx or opengl, I get something called "safe mode" which I presume is the main source of my problem. However, I can't switch it to any other setting. Even if I go to my official runescape client itself and change it (which does work on there), when I come back to simba and try to run it again, when runescape loads, it will say "since this is your first time playing we are going to run auto-setup for you". After which, it goes back into safe mode.
I've tried adding JRE to the system's PATH but that still hasn't helped.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated because I would really love to get back to getting the 99's I despise.
Thanks!

Is this the only client you have open? Try deleting the jagex cache in c:/users/you

yeah it's the only client. And I did notice when I went to delete it, there were two caches for some reason

Follow this vid to clear all ur jagex cache https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l68H3V87SN0
If problem still persists after u do that, ur graphic card/driver is probably very old, try updating them

It's possible that it's an issue with your graphics card or drivers.

For Direct-X, you can check compatibility by running a program called dxdiag (Windows Key + R, then type "dxdiag" and press enter)
Navigate to the tab relevant to your graphics card, and check to make sure you've got Direct-X enabled.

My dxdiag looks like this:

For OpenGL, you can use a program called OpenGL Extensions Viewer. Interestingly enough, this application also provides Direct-X information.

Mine looks like this:

I'd be willing to place a bet on the fact that one or both of these is wrong. If that's the case, you need to update (or possibly install in the first place) graphics card drivers from your official vendor.

Edit: RS.com states that the minimum requirement for graphics cards is "For DirectX or OpenGL graphics: 128MB 3D Graphics Card (i.e. Nvidia® GeForce™ 4 or above, or ATI 9800 or above)"

alright, I'm checking the graphics now, as you suggested
I cleared the cache and reloaded Runescape but I get the same deal with entering safe mode and not being able to switch to either opengl or directx.
Both of them should be fine though, because on the actual Runescape client both directx and opengl work, no problem. The issue seems to be localized only to simba's client. (and it's a $1700 laptop that's only a year and a half old, so it's not old or poor quality)

i used to have this problem, because the cleint for Latin America was different, so @The Mayor; made me a custom log in function, maybe this is your case?

could you post a screen of your client on login (login screen) ?

as in, before login? Like, just the regular Runescape screen?

Yes, the screen as it is before you put in your username and password

I'm stumped at this point but I did a bit of Google-fu and came up with this. Sounds pretty similiar to the issue in the OP.

"You have to use JRE not JDK, change your PATH (or add to it), or hard-reference java.exe in the JRE directory."

Try that? I know you said you've done it already - but maybe post your PATH here so we can ensure you've done it right?

you are not being able to get into opengl/directx . Bare in mind that some people cant use OpenGL NEVER (like me). The game will just screw up.

I tried that before and it still didnt work (not since reinstalling for the umpteenth time, but tried before)

You are doing it wrong then. I say this because that screenshot you show says that your Java path is definitely wrong. You will get the same error on Linux if the path isn't right.

As long as there is a "linker" error, you are using the JDK and not the JRE. Open CMD and type "javac". What does it print? Does it say command not found? If so, then you did it right.. otherwise you did it wrong.

I don't remember there being 2 JRE in here…? Any insight or which to use?

Afaik you can use either, personally I use Java 7 (jre7) instead of Java 8 (jre1.8.0_25)

What's the path before that? You've got to have JRE before JDK

In your start menu type cmd

In the command window that opens type

echo %PATH%
java -version
where java
echo %PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE%

Please post the output.

You have to somehow get it to OpenGL/DirectX graphics mode. I think the only reason that it should be defaulting to Safe Mode is either when your computer can't actually handle (or doesn't believe it can handle) running RS or it doesn't have the right plugins for those modes. I think there were new d3d9.dll and opengl32.dll plugins posted somewhere on this forum by Brandon (not sure if they are already part of the current release), you should replace your current versions with those (can't hurt to try).

Youre trying to load RS3, right?
If so, it shouldnt matter if java is on your path or not really.

Heres mine.
C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Common;
%SystemRoot%\system32;
%SystemRoot%;
%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;
%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;
C:\Program Files (x86)\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static;
C:\Program Files\TortoiseSVN\bin
(spaced it for easy reading)

And all i have is Java 7_71 (32 and 63 bit).

So i would try uninstalling Java 6_whatever as well as 8_whatever. (and any JDK too)
from there, uninstall all the JREs/Javas you have installed.

Then… RESTART.
And reinstall Java 7_whatever (32bit)

Also with your path, check your system and your user portions. id assume the system takes precedent over user.
(user is the top half, system is the bottom half)

but J_R, it works fine on the normal client downloaded from the runescape site. It's just with the simba client it keeps saying "this is the first time you've played, we need to run auto-setup" and then it's back in safe mode

No, RS3 loads fine, it's just that the simba client doesn't recognize it because it keeps getting put in "safe mode" which I can't switch out of (issue ONLY happening in the simba client, the client from the runescape website works fine)

but on my other computer, i have one that says just jre7 and it works fine, but i got 7.72 on here and simba will load up the bot, login fully, and just sit there.

I can't access opengl mode even though my computer has it and directx works, but the scripts that support it don't do anything.

My gripe is if it's in directx mode, with the proper botting set up for interface, why doesn't it click anything once it's logged in?

Have you tried to force update Plugins and SRL from simba's menu?

The only time this has happened to me was when I thought I had all the right settings; however, I actually derped and had transparency at 100% instead of 0%.
I think I also had issues before when having just DirectX loaded instead of both openGL and DirectX, so maybe you should just keep them both and just switch RS to either one in RS's settings.

Yep :\ I have no idea what's wrong. It seems like everything should work but then simba just doesn't like remember the settings and the client won't take opengl or directx
