using socks5 proxies with smart

Is there any way to open smart clients using a proxy connection, socks or otherwise? Looking around in smartparams doggy now but if someone could point me in the right direction (if its even possible) it would be greatly appreciated. Also not very familiar with the methods that simba can use to interact with websites outside rs, for example getting into a proxy if it is password protected.

@Brandon you helped me with smartparams in that other thread, mind giving me a pointer?

Try the following command-line arguments (second to last parameter for smartSpawnClient as shown yesterday):

-Dhttp.proxyHost=IPAddressHere -Dhttp.proxyPort=PortNumberHere -Dhttps.proxyHost=IPAddressHere -Dhttps.proxyPort=PortNumberHere -Djava.net.socks.username=UserNameHere -Djava.net.socks.password=PwdHere -Dhttp.nonProxyHosts=127.0.0.1|localhost

should work. You "might not" need to set both http and https depending on your proxy and out-going connections.. However, there is no harm in setting both..

Hey brandon, I couldnt get it to work for a sock5 proxy.
Tried the following

-Dhttp.proxyHost=localhost -Dhttp.proxyPort=80 -Dhttps.proxyHost=localhost -Dhttps.proxyPort=443 -DsocksProxyHost=localhost -DsocksProxyPort=1080
and

-DsocksProxyHost=SOCKSHOST -DsocksProxyPort=SOCKSPORT
both didnt work too (smart didnt spawn)
Googled around and didnt find any other variation.

Pass them as a string for the javaargs param right?
