Flightt banned (OSRS)

Well, I was recently busted on my main account for macroing major, in Oldschool RS. This was using a private Abyssal Rune-crafting script (100% color) in the browser. I was following all the important under-the-radar rules like no running over night, taking plenty of breaks, randomness and so on. Infact I was actively developing the script for months, to this day. I can only come up with that particular method being watched as a popular method for gold-farmers.
Really a shame to see the account go. It means nothing now but my login (and screen name) was Flightt; a few of you already figured this out. Held the rank of 5th in Fishing for a very long time, 53M Fishing XP (from the MonkFishies script), 40'sM Cooking XP (Catherby Cooker script), 92 Agilty (Agile Ape and private Ardougne Rooftops script), and many of the other stats trained up from various scripts I made. My Abyssal Runecrafting script also took me from mid 60's to 97 Runecrafting before I was busted, all via nature runes.
So while this only directly affects me it will put a major dent on script limitations. I'll be starting a brand new account and creating scripts to aid it all along the way but obviously they'll be low-level scripts. Unfortunately as a result my older AL scripts will remain outdated a little longer but on the bright side I'll be putting out some newer, basic scripts. And that's my game plan for now. Although a major loss for me this isn't going to slow me down, as much as Jagex would like to see that happen. Long live SRL.

Very interesting to know that it was in browser. I can completely empathize with how annoying this must be for you, when my 10 year maxed main was banned, I was very angry. But hey, I risked it, and now I'm profiting more than ever actually with new accounts.
Glad to hear you have the bounce-back attitude rather than the quitting attitude.
Best of luck, Flight.
Perhaps you were reported and manually investigated, which have been speculating to have much higher tier screening methods? Could it be that they are finally turning towards looking at Simba's input methods?

Thanks very much for the empathy haha… Yes absolutely I think that's the case. I'm sure surprised they could ban me after all the effort I put in to keeping invisible, as opposed to all the other reflection runecrafters doing what I was doing. Yes I remember that discussion we were having on Simba's input methods; I'd really like to see that happen, I don't see a reason why not, ya know?
Oh yeah, I'd also like to point out this was two days after my auto membership repurchased. Very polite of them to wait until I've paid before shutting me down. But it's what you'd expect from a business, no?

Yeah, of course I'm not a developer myself, and greatly respect and appreciate the free contributions the devs make for us, but I don't really like the answer "it would make us much harder to detect but would take a lot of time to implement."
Shouldn't we make things like that a priority? I'd much rather see Simba 1.2 get delayed a couple months if something like this were done instead.

That makes two of us. If it ever comes to a serious discussion this idea would have my support, no doubt.

Anytime :) you give a lot to the community and we appreciate it.
By any chance was you banned last night?
I remember seeing a in-game announcement that mod weath and another mod were going to be banning bots live on twitch.

Yes last night. I also saw that in-game message and logged out as soon as it was sent out. I logged back in several hours later, disconnected within about 10 seconds and game over.

I've been looking through RSOF, and while some of these threads could have lying authors, apparently there are a lot of "false" bans being given out in OSRS.
So maybe their overzealous banning got to you, and you were actually human-like enough for RS3 standards.
Could be due to a manual jmod bot hunt from an unannounced ban session? Did you record your botting sessions/chat log and checked if anyone talked to/reported you?
Sorry for your loss, i don't play OSRS but happen to have some OSRS gold atm, could give u a couple of mils to start out your new account if u need?
Sorry to hear man, crazy that it happened with how safe it seemed you botted. This show's again how even while botting in a browser seem's to be safer IMO, it really doesn't matter, if jagex want's to ban you, they will. If I can finish up the reflection include soon I'm going to do some ban rate test's of browser/SMART/Reflection.

That's a thought but I have indeed been banned for runecrafting in the Abyss before, but before that was utilizing reflection-based walking. With that being said I'm not going to fight it, although I don't agree with a permanent ban from "macroing major". It seems pretty harsh to me.

I only run that script while personally watching it because I was still actively adjusting it. The few people who talked to me I had paused the script and replied to and surely never came across any moderators.
That's a very generous offer Riwu but I fear if my new (yet to be made) account is banned it would be a waste of your money. Not to mention the possibility of the staff checking the account's trade records and coming in to investigate your account, and causing any fellow SRL'ers to get banned is the last thing in the world I want.

Ah the ol' rabbit-out-of-the-hole trick. Baited botters to log out and expose thermselves, but little did they know they fell for the trap! Damn Jagex's bot finding methods are a lot more complicated than we thought!
Jokes aside, sorry for your lost. Especially how much progress you mentioned on your toon. I know i only kept some pictures of mine (most are just screen caps of progress reports :(, not much to see) So i hope you have something to remember it by, least your Abyss Script should be some sort of memorial for it.

I got my osrs main perm'd yesterday as well. Though I think for different reasons.
Damn.. sorry to hear this @Flight; really appreciated the monkfish you gave me a few months ago really helped out with my training
Ouch, sorry to hear about that man :/
I looked at the highscores of players who were above and your rank for runecrafting, and those who gained 0xp in the past few days went up by 10-15 ranks. So this might have been planned or targeted.
Jagex has definitely stepped it up a notch recently

I would feel like absolute crap if that happened to me on an account that good. Sorry about your account man.
What is really worrying me is that your were using a private 100% color script in the browser and you still got banned, as that is what I do as well. Although I have been botting combat fairly heavily on my main the same way the past few weeks and I haven't been banned.
Did you ever use any scripts with SMART? or were they all browser scripts? I remember seeing something a JMod said about them waiting a few months after bots were detected to issue a ban, if so you could have been banned for the AgileApe script w/ SMART if you were training agility months ago.

I'm positive it's due to actually runecrafting in the Abyss as both my main and secondary crafter were banned once before, both temp bans. Following those two I left the main alone and started developing color version of the script with the secondary account; it was banned later on for macroing major. And this is the second time the main account was banned for crafting there as well. I got away with everything else but when I started making many millions per day I guess it was enough to put me on the high priority watch list.
The first time both accounts were banned I was using SMART and reflection (walking). The second ban on both accounts was via the browser. So from all of this I can surely say SMART and reflection were
not variables they used to detect my accounts botting, but clearly these bans were issued due to their nature: high profit-generating methods. I can't blame them for targeting gold-farmers above all else, the OSRS dev. team I still respect. But I surely think a macoring major & permanent ban is a bit overboard.
Edit:
I am however coming along fine on my account I made earlier today. A simple chicken-killer script that picks up feathers. Later I'll make a script to kill cows and collect hides for my new source of RS income. I really like the fact we can make unlimited accounts per email, that will help in the future.

Unfortunate, makes me very cautious to bot on my main, currently maxing in AFK NMZ.
From looking at your stats at:
http://www.crystalmathlabs.com/tracker/track.php?player=flightt&time=all big loss :( Sorry to hear about this.
There is no difference between SendInput and mouse_event, same goes for keybd_event, (Detection wise).
Changing it mouse_event wouldn't affect anything, it's still < 10 lines to detect.

Right on for not dropping and leaving and instead getting back up on your feet! Good luck with your next toon, cause im pretty sure in the end its all about luck and not being caught in a radar which we still have no clue how it works.
Chris!

Damn Flight, long time no see.
That's a huge loss. I lost my main (one and only account) a few weeks ago and decided OSRS just wasn't as safely-bottable as it was previously. I hope you can get back on your feet, actually I know you will, better and stronger while also contributing to the OSRS SRL community :).
If there's anything you need let me know.

Just an idea, would it be possible for Jagex to have a look at the processes on our CPU? So if they detect a 3rd party tool being used (in this case simba.exe), they can determine a ban off that.

I don't know where Jagex would stand legally if they did this.

Absolutely. But earlier today I made a couple functions to change the window title of both SMART and Simba using procedures in the newest revisions of Simba.

I might be wrong but I believe when you sign up or play the game you're giving them permission to do so. If my memory serves me right this is how Blizzard handled bots in WoW.

Don't forget that GetPage(String) (Used to grab the RS params) will use Simba's default User-Agent (If you're changing the user-agent for SMART)
Mozilla 4.0/ (compatible; Simba/1100; Synapse)
