Script Request Section

So I've been noticing a trend, not just of members but also of Junior members. Whenever a script request is made the person is immediately told to "learn to script", "make your own", "don't ask for this type" and on and on. Now, of course I get why people are saying that, to try to get people to learn scripting, but I definitely don't think it is accomplishing that at all. I mean, what is the point of having a script request if the person is immediately shunned for posting a request? We will just get people posting or thinking comments like this. So, IMO, we either need to remove the section all together, or, us as members, start setting a better example and not tell people to learn to script for posting a request in the request section…

This isn't aimed at any particular person/people as many, many users seem to do this now, just making a observation.

tl;dr It is becoming the norm to tell people to make their own script or not to post a request in the request section. Either delete the section or stop posting these comments.

Or perhaps limit it to posts of people who are willing to accept requests? Script requests are common and are implemented at a decent level, but they are almost exclusively handled through [name] taking script request threads. Even when someone is taking script requests, they typically only pay attention to their thread as opposed to new threads.

Yes, I definitely can see something like that being very useful, as the way the current system is set up isn't working

To be completely fair, the guy who posted that comment has been spamming his way into Jr. Member the last few days. The thread he posted that comment on is over a month old. On a similar point, we've gotten a significant amount of (IMO) simple gold farming ideas and extremely vague (undescriptive, one liner) requests from 1 post accounts.

There's a whole host of issues that you could identify which lead to these problems, and I'm not sure exactly what the fix is. I haven't even really been looking at requests for a month or so and they're wearing my patience thin with the quality (and repetition) of the recent requests. I can't imagine how some of the people actually go back to those sections over and over again.

The only suggestion I can make is that we think back to the days when we were new here, or any other botting/programming site. You can't change a leecher, you can't force people to write their own scripts. If they request it, then they don't want to write it. Just remember what it was like when you joined and wanted all the scripts. Be understanding because we've all been there.

In the end, it's a choice to go there at all and some people might be best just avoiding that section.

If I don't want to fulfill a request I just don't post :)

Although personally I've fulfilled about 4-5 requests so far, if I don't want to fulfill a request I usually post with a more positive, educational outlook rather than "shunning" and bashing. Sometimes I open up a Skype PM with individuals who are extra interested in learning what to do for their requests.

But I do see the trend I guess, I like the idea of people only posting to fulfill a request.

Meh all typical of any request section

And to contribute to the thread all just post what I posted a couple days ago:

Lol what is even the point of this section if everytime someone requests a script everybody tells them to go try it themselves. Which of course, it's a good idea to attempt to learn but the whole reason he posted here… was to not do it himself… :p
