I just made a character to try and ~100% bot, more like 90%, on Old School RS.

Should I make them;
1) Melee pure with 1 defense
2) Ranged pure with 1 defense
3) Ranged pure with more than 1 defense
4) Magic pure with 1 defense
5) Magic pure with more than 1 defense
6) Max everything!

Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated!

This. Although I mostly was F2P, 40 att was all I needed and the rest in str/range. Range + rune 2h combo = gg

Well pure type depends on where are you planning to pk and howmuch are you willing to risk. In general you want charachter to have the stats for your most common pking gear and avoid any levels above that gear requirement. You want to make character with the highest damage per second ratio in common gear while having lowest cmb lvl. For example some years ago i had 70def ranger and barrows pure

it was 70 def 99 mage 99 range 52 pray, back then were no curses. Used to pk varrock green drags mostly with max mage and some teammates. If for example i would want to pk bellow 20 wild, which is eazy escapable unless of a k.o then u need k.oer for example meele/ mage hybrid. If you planing to welfare pk then make 1 def pure, unless 20def gives you much adavantages against 1 def which i doubt. For edge pking for example probably best is a zerker, you can welfare hybrid with mystics with it too. For more advanced hybriding i made barrows pure 70def 99 str 75 att for ags 99mage and range, 70 pray for piety, was no curses back then.

So again in general you need to decide where you wana pk and what stuff you willing to risk and then dont get any spare levels. like why get 70def for a sake of being barrows pure if you will only pk in mystics? thats +8 combat lvls for no advantage.

Not sure about osrs pking nowadays. but from the vidoes i see i think best would be barrows pure.

Pures are fun for pking, and mains are fun overall (bossing, pking, and quests).

How is the PKing in 07? Is it still active or is it dying? I want to bot an Initiate pure over my uni break but I have no idea if it's even worth it.

true that. I went and did a bit, it was pretty fun.

I would suggest a zerker but an initiate seems like more fun.

Why not?

Well pking in 07, I've seemed to notice that around level 50-70 there are so many rushers who just try to kill you and then teleport away to recharge prayer, it's kind of annoying. It doesn't happen as much for lower and higher levels (that I know of). So, higher defence could help protect against that.

gmaul pures are the funnest ive had, with a little bit of range and your good to go!

completely maxed or a magic tank, both are fun! I don't like pure pking, so that's why. Also, a 60-90-70 build is quite op
