Problem spawning Smart Client

Simba is installed in A:\Simba and my JRE path is C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_25

I think there is something off a little because I installed simba on a different drive than my JRE. When I try to run a Simba script my debug shows the script crashed and file explorer is automatically opened. I've tried going to the JRE path in the popup file explorer but I'm apparently supposed to select a file or something. If someone could help me out I'd be so happy.

The debug indicates that you're correct, reinstall Simba to your C drive.

Please Help, another problem has occurred…

Saw what you said and realized I could just use a mklink junction point.

I opened command prompt and typed > mklink /j "A:\Program files (x86)\java" "C:\Program files\java"

Now when Simba automatically looks on Drive A for the JRE library it finds it.
——————————-

New problem, I think this one has to do with me having 64 bit JRE instead of 32 bit. Reason I think this is because Simba is trying to find the javaw.exe in my "Program files (x86)\java\jre1.8.0_25\bin\"

It finds it but perhaps Simba doesn't function right with 64 bit JRE or Java 8+ may not work right and I should downgrade to 7.

Please let me know what you all think the problem is. I'll lay out the debug info in full.

Was able to make a junction point to give Drive A, Drive C's java directory which Simba found straight away. For anyone finding this thread and having a problem with Simba popping up a Windows Explorer window, you just have to go into your java\jre\jre1.8.whatever\bin\ and select the .exe in this bin folder. Oh and make sure you're using 32bit JRE.

Thanks for the help Incurable, everything is working now.
