The include is working, and is always improving, I can't see anything from stopping you from developing a script. Saying the devs aren't keeping the include running to a good standard is false, as you can see here, https://github.com/SRL/SRL-6/commits/master several things have been added and improved.

We're not finished on the new updater, so until then it may take us longer than normal to update from an a rs update. Hopefully within the next few weeks we will be back up and running smoothly.

No one is interested in RS3, that game is dead, and has nothing to offer to the runescape community. all it is now is cosmetic updates from them every week. or a new color chin that gives a slight increase in exp. as OSR, updates are bringing back the RS we know and loved before Jagex Destroyed it.

That's not true. There are always ways to work around a minor fluff up, I remember when we had to work around spins the first time we just adapted and you can have that adaptation in your script if you're willing to try and make something yourself.
I wouldn't blame the developers at all, this is an open source program and many of the people have irl jobs and commitments that keep them from working on this for free, yet they do.

Let me start with this, anyone can be a part of the development, there are plenty of tutorials to get you started. That being said, everyone is doing this on their free time, there are no obligations to give out weekly status updates. I would suggest you try to be a bit more grateful.

It says right here they have a version, they just dont want to make a new updater yet. I know how Dev work on SRL, everything is kept in secret. But its already updated and it was conf. in one of the OSR scripts.

It's never been about members being on their 'high chair'. In fact most members only realize how LOW they are on the totem, whereas the people who pay no attention to anything but leeching appear to think of them as so high. As for updating weekly, you have awfully high expectations for a FREE, OPEN-SOURCE community. Anyone can develop and submit these, and likewise, everyone that does, happens to do so in their spare time. NOBODY HERE GETS PAID. In fact, you can easily do exactly the same and help update if you think things are going too slowly for the amount of spare time you have. Noone is sitting here making the updates and just keeping it for themselves.

I've been here since August, contributed, and been welcomed with open arms. I have frequent discussions about my and others scripts in IRC and PM, I've had deep philosophical conversations, I've had script problems that were solved within minutes of asking for help, I've had someone spend literally 45 minutes of their time explaining to me a concept that I was failing to grasp until it finally clicked, and I've kindled a friendship with someone on the opposite side of the world to me who I would never otherwise have met.

The "members" of this community do not harass, they do not belittle, and they certainly do not keep updates to themselves. I have no idea where you think you get your information from, but what you're saying couldn't be any further from the truth. If you don't like this forum or its members, then stop posting and leave. No one is forcing you to be here, and you're free to stop posting at any time.

Again, the the reflection updater is not relevant to this thread. As for having no say in development, that is false. if something is broken, make a fix and submit a pull request on GitHub. If it is good then it can be added to SRL.

3 of the last 5 people to respond before your message were the same rank as you and seem to be defending people and trying to be civil as well.

What? That's not even true. Plenty of people below Member have not only written code for development in Simba and SRL, but have actually been some of our most active developers. Elfyyy, myself, Olly, Kasi, Zyt3x, and Core are all names that came to mind that have been active developers (Yes, for SRL itself, the Simba compiler, and even this website itself) for this community. In fact, Simba and SRL are all open development, so that even you could be contributing. That's the beauty of open-source, all you have to do is download the code and commit to the public repositories.

And it's not a "We don't want to work on the updater," it's simply a situation where development takes time. People can't just work 24/7. Not everyone can get 56 hours of sleep, 40 hours(+) of work a week, 20 hours(+) of class a week, 40 hours(+) of homework a week, have time to travel to those locations, cook, eat, shower and spend their roughly 2 hours left a week developing for Simba. If you can, then that's great, and it does happen to be open source, so feel free to use the links I supplied. I'm sorry, but not everyone can manage to spare that kind of time, especially when many of us try to balance a semblance of social lives into everything else.

It's open-source, you can see exactly what we are working on AND the current progress. If you actually want to help, it's right there. And we don't discriminate and keep all SRL development in the Member section. Most SRL related development discussions occur in the irc or in the public portions of the forum because we want everyone to be able to help. I can honestly say it has been more than a year since I've seen any SRL related development discussions in Members.

That's the thing though, you didn't actually ask when they will be updated, you just started by saying devs aren't doing enough, and telling everyone that "there's no point" and insulting standards during a massive rewrite. You even went so far as to bring OSR devs in and ask them why they aren't doing more for RS3. Yes, a couple of devs did and rightfully do get annoyed when you attack them like that. But most members that responded have so far been trying to point out things kindly and calmly. And again, The last 3 of 5 posters before your message did happen to be the same level as you, as in neither Dev nor Member. I'm not trying to be rude or in any way flame.

I'm not attacking you in any manner. I am pointing out however that you're simply not correct on a lot of your statements and how things actually can be done in the way you want.

Well there won't be a single location with the full project explanation, that would be ridiculous. Very few open-source projects do that. And what code is missing? I'm seeing updates and code all over the place. I'm not trying to harass, and I am trying to be relevant, so please do explain: what code is missing and what code isn't commented?

I'm so confused as to why he's targeting SRL Members.


The SRL Member section hasn't had any SRL Member specific development in it for months now, probably closer to a year.


As for the rest, you can easily update it yourself, as not everyone has the time to work on it 24/7.


And err. if you mean the reflection updater, allow me to enlighten you with what I know (I've worked on my fair share of updaters.)


Working on an updater takes a load of time and effort, and it's not something many people want public. If it was, you could have java-wannabes rip your code and bots could spring up everywhere.


We at SRL are against this, as we want to blend into the game as a challenge, not ruin it even further. If bots got out of hand, well where's the fun in scripting anymore? You're just like the masses.


So yes, some things are kept private, and I assure you, they aren't in places we can easily reach. If you want to help develop, then feel free, otherwise, please refrain from assaulting members of a FREE community for spending THEIR time.

The main flaw that you should be observing yourself as well is that, in all your
'conclusions' you seem to assume that everyone is being overly offensive towards
you, and it doesn't really seem to be the case. People are however annoyed by
your false accusations.

You did "start" something. You stated false things and represented them as
facts. You can apologise for that and move on. Or argue in a proper way why you
believe what you said actually makes sense. But you're not doing that – you're
avoiding answering questions by turning the questions back at the people who ask
