Hey,
is that only me or someone else can confirm it happens to him?

I can't select with simba's crosshair flash applets or any other internal frame anymore. In my firefox I can only mark whole main window, Simba doesn't even see toolbars as separated things. In IE9 I can select particular elements of browser's window (bars, icons, tabs), but I am also unable to choose any object on the site.

I was going to help someone in scripting browser game and it blocked me. It's something new, I've made few scripts for browser games in the past and I didn't have this issue.

I tested in Chrome and I can select the browser content, the whole window, or the whole screen.

Avast Anti-virus does this as well. It does not allow you to view the children windows/buttons/controls.. Not even with Spy++. Either FF doesn't have child windows for the controls you're trying to grab.. OR it does what Avast does.

I checked if it's anti-virus (which is Comodo) by trying this in safe-mode and I didn't notice any difference.

However by running through many websites I found out that I can grab some flash applets after all, but only some. For example I can select this game in both browsers:

www.kongregate.com/games/light_bringer777/learn-to-fly-2

but not this one: <- @edit I see APPA doesn't find flash applet (MacromediaFlashPlayerActiveX) on this side either.

http://www.kongregate.com/games/makerart/dino-battle

Where th heck is difference? They are both flash applets.

Also in IE9 I can grab youtube applet, when in FF not…

TLDR: Simba is useless in Chrome, IE and FF.. For me at least. One solution is to capture the whole window and set Simba's ImageOffset (just like when the navigation bar in RS just came out.. Might not be able to scroll that window after that though).

What I meant by anti-virus was that Avast also hides its child windows. You can't select anything except the main avast window. You can't view the classes of its buttons, titles, etc..

There's no child windows for Simba to grip on to. Maybe Chrome hides it or maybe it just doesn't use any and renders directly onto the tabbed-window. Chrome uses IPC to communicate between tabs and the parent's. Could explain why it doesn't need embedded children windows.

At least, that's the way it seems:

There's no child windows at all actually. I tried BOTH of those flash links you gave me and both of them have no child windows any where on that website. Everything is draw directly on the window you see. Maybe adobe flash changed but I don't know.

Even IE is doing this.. And it does it for Youtube for both Chrome and IE. Chrome uses Direct-X on windows for something.. I didn't check what it is.

What you could do is create your own appa using a web-browser control and just get load the game inside that and capture the colours of the object itself.
