Can your main be banned if you bot on a noob account on the same computer?

Hi, so I recently just came back to this site.
I have a main that I have never botted on and play legit on it daily.
I just started botting on a old account.
I'm using a good VPN, and cleared my Jagex Cache.
My question is if I play on my main on the same computer and my noob account ends up getting banned, is there a risk my main will be banned?
If yes, can it be prevented by using my VPN and clearing my Jagex cache each time before I bot?
If you bot, they can ban your other accounts yes.
It's been stated they do this so that people don't get cocky and just lose throw away accounts.

How can they ban a account that has never been botted on?
Also if I delete cache and use a VPN each time before I bot how are they able to trace my botting account to my main?
I don't understand this.

If you delete your cache/use VPN the chances of being able to trace you back to your main are usually… low, I think. What NKN was saying was that if they do figure out that you are botting, and they figure out that you have a main, even if you don't bot on it, they WILL ban that main account. So just be smart about your botting ^_^

Thanks for the reply.
That is really stupid.
I guess I won't bot.
Not worth risking a very high level account w/ rares to get an extra 200k-300k/hr.

i dont believe they are going to do that, i mean.. do you really believe all the thousands of bans are given manually? nope. They clearly have a system that detects bots and maybe they get checked by a human when getting banned. I doubt they will loose time checking coincidencies between accs (like ip, cache, email, stuff) just to ban an unbotted account.
Nobody has proof about anything, so just take stuff into account and be careful.

but Jagex specifically stated that they -do- do this to combat gold farming.

I'm guessing a large majority of users on this site have a very good main account.
What are the best ways to bot without risking your main account?
Different computer?
Deleting Cache?
Personally, how do you go about keeping your main safe?

I, myself, have been botting since.. forever and never found anything about Jagex banning your main if they find you botting on other accounts.
BUT however, back with the staking-against-the-rules thing, Fishy and all his banker accounts got banned, even though he never gambled on those, so I'm not quite sure..
Also, Jagex DID state they would ban your account if there's been any interaction between the bot and the main.
Honestly, I doubt anyone here can answer your question, and I suppose deleting your cache is the best you can do.

well, for one, I bot my main still. c:
But uhh, idk just don't do any 100 account goldfarming on your home PC and you should be fine.

It doesn't make sense to me why they have grounds to ban a main that never bots or breaks rules because an alt on the same computer is doing so. There's so much deniability in that (my family shares a computer, my brother bots and I don't, etc).
To be safe, you should delete your RuneScape cache. Nobody knows for sure what's going on in that folder and in jaclib.dll but it can't hurt to delete it.
Obviously if you transfer gold to your legit main from your botting alt they have grounds to ban the main. Perhaps use a middle man to combat this.

My plan is to bot a f2p account to members.
Than make at least 10m so I can start flipping, and eventually sell the gold on the account.
There would be no interaction with my main.
I'm honestly not doing it for the money really. I just really enjoy botting :)
But yea, I'm going to delete my cache everytime before I start the bot and start my VPN as well.
With doing this I don't see how they can track the bot to my main. (Other than I made the account on this computer without using a VPN.)
Since it doesn't seem like anyone knows for sure… I am planning on botting a lot on it and I'll update the thread if and when it gets banned.

You should make a blog with updates, would be fun to see how it goes :)

Keep us updated on your progress!
And if they ban your main, just tell them that your brother botted and you didn't, on twitter/reddit/facebook
I saw someone did this on reddit and they responded to him. He didn't get unbanned tho cus they said he botted on the account that got banned.

My friend said that his clanmate, who had an account with Comp cape, botted a noob acc, but he got his main banned instead. I don't know if this is legit info but I guess it is.

I think they will ban other accounts your are associated with!
Jagex has never banned me incorrectly, they pretty much only do that type of shit for bug abusing on a grand scale (oh this account that's tied to the duper has 30b on it? welp not anymore). Apart from that they pretty much don't (they're not a shitty p server with no other way of detecting cheating), I personally have many Botting bans + multiple RWT bans on the same ip, rs cache, & physical machine yet that has NEVER resulted in any of my other (including a legit acc that's almost about to have a max cape) accounts [that could easily have been tied to said accounts] ever been banned incorrectly (I was always actively botting / rwting , right before the ban). Kudos to jagex on that ^_^
Edit: That's not to say that you shouldn't avoid associating your legit account(s) with the cheaters btw, I'm just sharing my personal experience on the matter =p Up to you to decide whether or not it's worth the time & effort to do so (if it's easy for you to do so, then I'd recommend disassociating the accounts even though it probably won't make a difference).

I've been banned on like 200+ accounts on my computer, and my main is fine. I've even traded gp to my main from 90% of these accounts and nothing has happened (I don't bot on my main when running gold-farming accounts/test accounts for scripts).
As for why I have had so many bans, I for a month or two I would bot from friday @ 6PM - Monday 6AM (60hrs) because for whatever reason using tribot I would not have any accounts banned during that time (this later changed when they added better detection). I would run a thieving script that would get me to master farmer level, pickpocket and make like 6-8M per account each week. I would run like 30 per weekend, make 200M (lose 30M or so from the bonds).
I did this until my tutorial island bot started getting insta-bans, and spending 3 hours a week chain creating 30 accounts manually was just not worth it anymore. However, my main was untouched. I did not bot on him however, but I feel safe logging onto my main while other accounts are botting.
I heard that there is a way of separating jagex cache folders so that jagex client will think that you are using different computers to access the game, therefore making it impossible to prove that your main has gold-farming minions. Is this true?

If you have botted on your main maybe yes, but if not I don't think so.

There's been a lot of reports about legit mains getting banned just cause they botted on other accounts.

Afaik, that happens when the legit main and the bot are online at the same time, on the same system. They get chain-banned. I've never had a legit account banned, under any circumstances.

Havent happened so far even if i was caught with main trading with bot basicly (bot banned in like 5mins after trade while main was still logged in). I think i lost over 50 accounts i traded with my main due to a ban. Althrough i have lost legit noob account. I am pretty sure i didnt traded any cash to him/from him or had any other relations with other accounts besides i played legit with it using smart and he had same email registered as one of banned drags bots. Thinking about it quite often, but still cant remember any other relations, so email may be the case.
On the other hand heared and seen, mostly a while ago legit mains getting their cash taken by jagex or banned, cause they tend to trade botted goods.

It has never happened to me when I use to run multiple accounts at once all the time. I don't think they actually do this unless they flag your ip or something.
