SPS Map Problems

Hello all,

I've been working on a project and it requires some SPS walking. No big deal right? Well, the script banks in Edgeville, and it sometimes ends up anywhere around the bank region. Most recently I found it had walked to the GE. This is the only problem I'm having with an otherwise productive script. I've read a few tutorials and I know complicated SPS maps require photo editing skills, which I have none (and no PS anyway).

I'm hoping someone can offer tips on how to make the map work so that it walks from the Edgeville bank to whatever the alter is close to Edgeville (see attachment). If someone with map making experience can merge a couple maps together it would really turn my crank though.

I've attached the two maps that fully show the area I need, and also the map I'm currently using. I realize the maps are crooked, but that's how they show when I click the compass to make it north. I also realize there's a stupid line in the full maps, because I don't know how to fully expand the minimap permanently so I printscreened while I was holding it expanded.

Thanks for putting up with my nub-ness, and hopefully someone can figure out how to fix this situation

You trying to get to that runecrafting symbol?

I've explained to Garrett how to properly resize the minimap for screenshots in IRC, but I'm unsure about how SPS handles a crooked map and how to properly link them together. I've always just manually screwed around for 20 minutes to get perfectly north facing maps, but I don't know if this is actually necessary. If someone could please clarify that for us, that'd be awesome.

Yeah, from the bank to the RC symbol.

If your map is slightly off north, then SPS is more likely to click a point that slightly deviates from your path.

Yeah, from the bank to the RC symbol.

I've walked that route before with SPS no problem (well from lodestone down to that area). The map is long gone but it can be done.

I thought so, thanks. How do you go about getting north facing maps? Do you manually focus them too?

Since it should be possible to walk as long as I get the proper map facing, this is now my biggest question. Does anyone have a more efficient way than logging in and out and praying for a perfect north map? If GIMP can do this and be explained easily I could get that, but I'm not interested in obtaining PS just for this.

Our doesn't have to be perfect to the millimeter. I find rotating south then clicking the compass gets pretty close.

Okay, I'll have to try this when I get home and have RS access. Thanks for the advice.
