Has anyone tried scamming people on osrs/rs3?

What are the ban rates like on each one? i'm guessing fairly low as jag ex's main focus now is botters.

I always see people going around on osrs trying to offer me 50k more than i'm asking for something that i'm selling and at the last minute taking it away in the hope that i'll quickly accept.

I got scammed for 18k buy a guy saying he was selling lobs for 200gp each and I offered 20k hoping for 100 but he offered me 10 after playing around with lobsters and sharks for a bit and I ended up getting scammed for 18k which is just plain embarrassing. I reported the guy and am wondering how likely it is to get banned for scamming.

I know srl isn't a malicious community and you guys don't go around trying to scam people as you would just rather fit in with everyone else.

has anyone else tried scamming or know someone who got banned/muted for scamming a lot?

EDIT: I just got schooled by the most intelligent internet people i've seen, and they saw through everything and found out that I was asking the chances of being banned if I scammed someone. I don't usually go around scamming people and I just did it once or twice and was wondering what a forum centered around rule-breaking on runescape might know about it.

IIRC, any changes to an offer show up in bold red text or a ! on the trade window.

I didn't know scamming still exists, besides the price gaps between the street value and GE value of an item.

The chances of people getting banned for scamming are most likely way less than getting caught for RWTing/Botting.

0% if all you did was report him in game. You could try contacting jagex on twitter. Sometimes they respond.

I don't usually do it and I just said i scammed one or two guys who said they reported me and was wondering if i would be likely to get banned. I should probably go to rehab now as I'm a danger to myself, I was actually worried about getting banned from scamming and wanted to ask the opinion of a community.

As a general rule I don't go around scamming people to make money, and I don't even bot to make money, I only bot for combat levels.

About the name, very very good observation my friend…

That actually happened today and I was like :duh: after I traded him but I also have scammed a few people in the past

SRL isn't focused around RS rule breaking, sure we do break rules but that isn't the main focus! The main focus of SRL is to enrich their users with information, the #1 thing you can find on this site is not scripts/bots but is information to learn how to create.

Back on topic, it is next to 0. Scamming is just something jagex does not really ban for, but abuse a glitch long enough (to scam, or not to scam) and believe me you will be banned.

I don't know there are a ton of ways to make money in RS, you don't need to scam to make a profit.
