Blurry/Laggy RS Screen on Server/High CPU Usage

Hey all,

Originally when running RS on my server the screens were clear, and not very laggy, randomly as of yesterday the screens have gotten very blurry/laggy when moving, and I have no idea why this is. I did switch RS graphics to very low, but it has no affect on being blurry vs on maximum. Any suggestions for fixing this?

Also: This server has an extremely good CPU, yet it is reading @ near 100% when only running 4 instances of RS/simba, whereas my laptop which has a much less powerful CPU and much less ram, can run 4 @ 55% of CPU (and the laptop has a less powerful cpu). What is up with that? I tried setting RS graphics on very low, but it didn't make that much of a difference. Any tips?

rs3 or osrs? rs3 consumes a lot more than osrs

id assume rs3, but perhaps some pics? is this only on smart? the browser? gfx mode? (rather than just high/low)

OpenGL is blurry all the time on my laptop… except for interfaces/anything not '3d'. switching to dx works fine. and previously… ogl was not blurry. (except its been like this for… 6 months probably now. shows how much i use my laptop)

Correct only in smart, I'm not sure what you mean by gf mode, but it is min settings with cpu usage set to very low.(but that didn't seem to make a difference blurry wise)

Yes RS3, DirectX.

Well if it is supposed to be blurry I suppose its normal. Any ideas on how to cut down on java's massive resource hogging?

I have the same problem as you. My vps only has directx support and it laggs a crap ton and won't run scripts more than half an hour. It has 3.75gb and 2 cores and only running one account. Im not sure why, but my pc can handle it a lot better and its on opengl

It could just be network lag if the scripts are still running fine.. If not its a problem with your server, Ive also had issues with VPSs just not liking Simba at all

@TylerT: It happens on multiple dedicated servers, but yeah the scripts work fine, i just find it really weird that it does that.

I don't have the same problem as you though ubby, what scripts are you running? Are you sure they are stable builds? Do you know why the scripts break @ half an hour?
