——– ERROR: Error while grabbing parameters
——– HINT: Make sure you can reach the RS website, and no active firewall is blocking Simba
——– FATAL ERROR: Failed to grab parameters
Successfully executed.
The following bitmaps were not freed: [1]

I know that in order to fix this, you either check if you really are blocking it with your firewall, then allow it, or uninstall and reinstall simba, or uninstall and reinstall java.

However, the fix that worked for me was clearing/deleteing anything related to jagex cache in players

Sometimes when I run a program, like GaO, clearing the cache does not fix it..

What causes this error, and why does clearing the cache occasionally solve it?

Also another error (GaO related)

When I manually load a RS page:
You have chosen to use 2 combat style(s)
Exception in Script: Runtime error: "The Box you passed to Rectangle exceed the bitmap's bounds" at line 78, column 17 in file "C:\Simba\Includes\SRL-6\lib\utilities\drawing.simba"
The following DTMs were not freed: [0, 1, 2, 3, 4]
The following bitmaps were not freed: [Minimap Mask, 1, SMART Debug Image]
File[C:\Simba\Includes\SRL-6/logs/SRL log (28-07-14 at 11.00.52 PM).txt] has not been freed in the script, freeing it now.

If it cannot grab client parameters, that's because it cannot fetch from the RuneScape site. I too was having this issue due to their updates. Runs alright now. =) Hope it's working!

Thanks for sharing. I've added a link to this thread here. I am having the same issue since the RS update on Monday, so I will try this solution after work.

As for the bitmap error – that looks like a script issue. The script is trying to read a part of the bitmap that doesn't exist. You should post that on the script's thread. Also, what is GaO?

It was primarily because of rs simply not being available, yesterday I was able to only play via webclient after having closed my downloadable client for a while (and some others m8s had the same problem).

Oh okay, thanks. Good to know this has been resolved, then.
