Is this community / RuneScape still alive?

A friend of mine recently told me about old-school RuneScape, which led me to check it out, which of course brought me back here.

I remember SRL (and RuneScape itself) being a lot more popular and vibrant and coming back after several years it seems there has been a huge decline.

Perhaps childhood nostalgia is causing me to remember differently? Anyway, I think I might get back into scripting.

Yeah it's hit an all time low with the release of EoC but it seems to be rising in members right now which is great to hear.

As game gets less popular srl becomes less popular…but if you see new posts there is still a lot of activity on the forum

07 is growing , I don't know about rs3 since I left rs there are mutch less players.
I used to enjoy the game back in 2010, now I like playing it for 30 min when really bored, but I don't like it enough to play it daily.
I like botting do, just waiting till you hit that lvl 99 and being smart enough to avoid bans.
And I do like testing how long it takes to get banned :D

RS3 is growing too. Legacy brought back a bunch of players.

they should just remove eoc, they made a poll so you could vote on eoc and on the old system I have heard.
offcourse 50% votes for eoc, all the people who don't like eoc already stopped playing the game cus it sucks.

I really hope they go back to 2010 runescape , just after dungeoneering. and keep 07 scape.
they should keep the inventory editing wish is the only good update ( my opinion )

Making Legacy is probably Jagex' smartest decision since they ruined RuneScape with EoC. That's the main reason why I came back to this game.

Honestly I left because of EoC like many others, I had been playing this game for over 10 years but EoC just wasn't my thing at the time.
Well, anyways my friends got me back into the game and I can honestly say EoC isn't the main reason why most players have quit.

I think the major problem is the developers at Jagex.
They don't put thought or care into their updates they just push things out the door because they think it'll bring in more subs when in reality it destroys the community.

They recently updated pest control and made it decent and fun, then a few weeks later they push out an update which makes pest control useless because void is nerfed to the ground, literally you take more damage wearing void than wearing no armour at all..

They refuse to fix the god awful delay that happens when you click something and it takes about a second or two for the screen to respond because they say "it'll take too long ;)" - literally what they said in a Q&A.

There are more cosmetic armour items then there are actual armours in the game.

EoC stats are broken, me and 2 other friends went to bandos and using Ice Asylum could camp their eternally and one of my friends is 1 def, and the other isn't maxed and neither am I.

Shields are absolutely horrible, which makes me sad because I always dreamed of owning a divine and now theyre like 35 mil lol.

So I don't think we can really blame EoC in general as the cause of players leaving and it's really just been the fault of Jagex that has caused so many of their loyal supporters to just leave.

But hopefully more people come back to the game since the Player Power seems to be fixing some minor things, and I would love to see more people on these forums.

This is for RS3 , there are other people working on 07 and I don't play 07, but I know 1 thing they do their job atleast twice as good.

I'll be frank, I loved EoC. I think they just implemented it badly. It should've been a quest type similar to lunar magics, so if you did like it you could choose, but the recent updates have been poor. They just hired a team as basically a "clean our sh** up" crew. So we have to see how they do.

OSRS is certainly active, although not nearly as much as RS3. Its population is shrinking ever so slowly.

The live game's playerbase has taken lots of beatings over the last few years so is nothing like it used to be. It does seem to be back on the rise though, finally.

As for this site's community - it ain't bustling, but it is still alive and kicking with so sign of going anywhere yet.
