So what are the difference between the two bots?

What kind of technologies/methods involved that are different and that are same?
I am guessing color is used for both.

If one wanted to port osrs bot to rs3 or rs3 to osrs how would they go about doing it? and what are some of the challenges?

OSRS uses SRL-OSR
RS3 uses SRL-6

RS3 has better functions which are more advance (because rs3 is more advance)
OSRS is easier to learn and you may also use reflection

If you mean just color, then the includes are different as the games look totally different.

If you mean general bots, well.
The values are different, there are a lot more fields in RS3 that need hooking than in OSRS and the patterns themselves are different.
