There is no native build of Simba for Linux. However, Simba works perfectly through Wine.

If you're using Linux at all, you should already know how to install Wine and run programs through it.

If not, check out my tutorial: https://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=109212

I'm not sure.. I'm honesty TOO lazy to compile Simba for linux just for testing anything.. However, I tested native OpenGL in C++ and everything seems to be fine.. However, I have not tested anything with RS.. In order to know for sure if it works with Smart & RS, I'd have to test it. It does work with other applications though so that's good I guess.

Heh, SMART didn't work for you right..?

An long term goal for SRL-6 was for it to work native on Linux, You told me the opengl plugin would work if compiled in linux which is great, but there's still the smart (not working) issue and a tesseract plugin for linux.

SMART works in Safemode.. It just won't go into OpenGL mode for some odd reason. The official client works fine. Even the HTML5 egl hooks work too. All my OpenGL programs work fine. Just not SMART lol.. I haven't actually tried porting my Java client to Linux for testing but meh.. laziness. Either way, the plugin works..

This shows for sure that the plugin and the hooks work.. I just need to find a way to test this on RS or SMART.. Maybe someone else can try it on their comps or wait until I re-install Linux on an actual comp and not a VM..

This is running in a VM..

This is stuff i could test i guess, but does loading the plugin (in smart) prevent it from working? like, can you enter opengl in smart without the plugin loaded?

Nope. If I could enter OpenGL in SMART without the plugin, it'd work WITH the plugin as well. Can't enter normally. Can't enter ever.

Are you using wine or ?????

EDIT: @Olly; I got OpenGL working on Linux. I wrote my own loader.. Don't mind the name.. It's from the puzzle pirates loader I tried writing last year..

Anyway, the loader works if using netbeans. Does not work if using Terminal or Command-Line. -_-

EDIT 2: I solved it.. Getting in OpenGL mode that is..

x32:

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/opt/java/jdk1.7.0_51_x86/jre/lib/i386"
java -cp classes pirateloader.PirateLoader

x64:

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/opt/java/jdk1.7.0_51/jre/lib/amd64"
java -cp classes pirateloader.PirateLoader

Way easier with netbeans :l
