There's so much missing and skimming through I see some false info. Let me go down the list quick and add to some of them of what I personally know.

Starting from the top, skipping all the new-scene people:

TRiLeZ - Helped a large amount in developing SRL, this includes earlier random-solvers.
BenLand100 - More than just SMART. If you run your script (no matter what bot you use) and you can actually see your mouse moving across the screen, as opposed to just "appearing" at the target coordinate, you have Ben to thank for that. He also brought Reflection as a whole to the RS cheating scene; he was the first:
From: BenLand100

REFLECTION is my contribution, my gift, to the Runescape cheating community.

hoodz, Krazy_Meerkat and elfyyy - The thread on powerbot gives these three the title of "creators and developers of SRL's reflection include for Simba over at Villavu". This is true if the statement refers to the current OSR-Reflection. Actually, the majority the current OSR-Reflection include is just based off the old, original SRL-Reflection include, which can still be seen here. This was maintained by Drakan? (I've forgotten his original name), Pyroryan, Mormonman, and I believe some others had a hand in building it, such as Nava2 and Naike. If I remember what Pyroryan told me before Naike played a big role in this but I don't know personally.
moparisthebest - More than just "a forum host", he goes pretty deep into the RS cheating scene, how far I don't know but I remember his contributions when RSPSs were in the early stages. He did a _lot_ of de-obfuscating which helped us easily work with Jagex's earlier clients, specifically #317 . I wish I knew more about all he's done, I just know it's a crime to underrate him.
XeroCheez - My friend and enemy. We were rivals for a long time in the RSPS scene, while I was following the work of Winterlove, Xero was more sided to the primitive-style engine and, like all the others who used that version, made ridiculously custom game servers. It wasn't until way later he started basing his servers off my Project16, and even then slaughtering them. :( As far as client-hacking goes, yes he did a lot of that, made a lot of servers go under permanently.
Wizzup? - First of all, who ever wrote the thread forgot the "?" and also titling him simply with "Created the new SCAR" is a sad attempt; could they not even mention Simba? That's aggravating…

A couple others I can think of at this time is Sythe and Fasga. Sythe goes back to, at least, RuneCMS (where I began also), I'm sure Ben can remember that place. That community existed before RS2 was born and at the time still focused on RSC cheating. It was still running as RS2 was released, and somewhere along the line SCARScape was created which stopped the client from randomly changing colors on the MS and minimap. It also kept the compass always at perfect north, basically a huge aid to SCAR. Fasga, as far as I know, had nothing to do with the RS cheating scene but was a very talented programmer hands down. I met him in Dodian's early days, as one of the first few public RSPS. He helped me quite a bit and ran his own educational website for programming (Codefasga.com, does it still exist?).

Oh yeah, and MissSilabSoft who did a lot of RSPS work, part of the MITB team. Proto (I think) who was among the first to develop the RSC private servers. Ah I've forgotten so much, it's a shame.

One more edit, if you'd like an interesting read from Ben on his take of the RS cheating scene you can read his short story here:

cohen - I think he's got an account here. He did a lot on mitb in terms of bot development and all that. He's a a dev over at SRL now I believe (been a while since I've been over there)

I've only ever been involved with SRL. There is/was a "cohen", though and he did stop by here at some point and people were confusing the two of us. So, cohen (I guess) did a lot of mitb, I (Coh3n) did not. :)

I agree that a lot of the list is irrelevant, but I think the people involved up to 2009/2010 laid the foundation for the big boom of java-based bot clients that have been coming out ever since (a lot of which are crap). I think those years were actually the last years in which there was at least some 'evolving' going on in bot development so I think people like Kosaki and Tekk are definitely relevant there. I'm curious what other people think of the relevance of people in the development scene hence I'm following all the topics :p

Do you think phl0w should be on the list for 'stealing about $10k worth of digital goods'? I don't think that's exactly a thing worthy of mention. Matter of fact, don't you think it got a bit out of hand with adding people like Matt to the list for doing a minimal amount of development and hacking a website? It'd be cool if the people on the list actually had some sort of influence on the way that RS cheating has progressed through the years, because if you list people who've made a bot from 2011 onwards you're going to get loads because that's when the people before it actually made a lot of the source code public and the amount of tutorials and documentation of the process got a boost.

I think it's a difficult call to say who should be included and who shouldn't, but theres definitely a lot of people who even though they have created something haven't really brought anything new or refreshing to the board. I think even you'd know who these people are.

He's on there for stealing stuff? Erm, no. I'll ask Lesbian to take him off (at least for that).

And you're right, but it boils down to people's perceptions. Someone who wasn't around and didn't really know what Gh0sT did is going to perceive him as being greater than he is, because his story was exaggerated over time.

Someone who stole someone's idea and turned it into a product is going to be perceived as greater than the one who had the original idea.

In this day and age, it's all about execution, charisma and marketability. It's akin to the difference between a producer and an executive producer in the film business. The former makes under $50,000 a year, whilst the latter makes upwards of $120,000.

Your point about listing people who've made a bot in recent years is also very valid, there have been damn near more separate bots created in the last two years than in the rest of RuneScape cheating put together.

It is indeed very difficult to say who should be included, and I'd like to point out once again that people such as @Ashaman88; @slacky; @Wu-Tang Clan; @The Mayor; who have simply outlined what's wrong instead of making an effort to tell us why, or to tell us what's right aren't helping very much…

To the people that think the list is crap or incomplete – that's irrelevant. The list is there for newer users get and idea of the history of RS cheating and some of the people involved. Yes, some things may be inaccurate; clearly it's a work in progress. If something is wrong or inaccurate, you provide the correct content, so maybe the list will become accurate and complete.

There's obviously going to be dependencies. Think about how many different communities and bots there have been over the years; each built or inspired from the previous. Different people from different communities are going to remember things differently, or have a different opinion for different people.

Whether you think someone should be on the list or not doesn't matter – that person clearly did something memorable; it could be good or bad, but memorable nonetheless. The history of RS cheating has its dark corners, just like everything else, and the people in those corners are just as much a part of the history as everyone else.

Hitler is remembered for doing something extraordinary. Evil and terrible, yes, but extraordinary. He will always be a part of history, just as much as the "heroes".

Oh yeah, I think Pockets from Sythe should be listed somewhere new the bottom, not for anything spectacular but he was also someone who bypassed the Clusterflutter after that big bot nuke. While people praise Jacmob for being the only one, Pockets was at least another to do it shortly after, and he had sold his reflection-based bot privately on Sythe for a very steep amount.

I think it's simply more of how Ashaman was just joking around and probably didn't even look at the list, and everyone else feels slighted in some manner because at some level, some of the people on that list were simply script developers, and there are an absolute TON of us who have created decently high level (or high quantity (or both *cough* Ashaman *cough*)). And then there are the unsung heroes like our very own Olly who has contributed a cubic f*** ton to simba recently, including some light Tesseract work that I think Slacky started.

Because what started out as a thread that had some decent, if at times wrong, content turned into a thread that had anyone who has done anything bot or updater related in the last 2-3 years regardless of whether they have contributed anything to rs hacking/reverse engineering scene. Most people on that list don't deserve to be on it.

I'm more than content with only keeping something like that to the highest tiers of 'This guy wrote a full bot' or 'This guy pioneered this technique of detection' or something along those lines.

Individual devs get the recognition on the individual scripts they write. But if you want to start saying 'oh this guy wrote a good miner script', then what about the guys who did something significantly bigger than that? I have no problems with limits, but if you're gonna exemplify the little guys, at least show off the guys bigger than them.

That's what I mean, people that have developed scripts shouldn't really feature on that list. Some of the others shouldn't really if it's an appreciation thread, some have developed bots, but it's pretty much a re-packaged version of what other people have done.

It's because it's on Powerbot… nobody cares about anything powerbot here… this is strictly color with a couple of your kind and @YoHoJo who… rages on sythe? or something?
Your list has like 3 relevant people to us and past that its a matrix of cyberwaste. I don't really know why you posted it on SRL in the first place. I guess this just shows that if you want recognition, you either need to do some small part of java development, or steal gold (now who would do that?).

By that logic, SRL is the elite end-all-be-all of RS cheating (which is true tbh) and everyone else are useless peasants, or to use your words, a matrix of cyberwaste (which is not true tbh).

Additionally, there are plenty of people on the list who are recognized for things other than Java or stealing gold.

But you did say they were a matrix of cyberwaste, sounds pretty much the same to me.

Once again, this isn't a 'list of Java bot developers'. It's a list of people who've done something significant for the RS cheating scene. In addition to Java coders, there are also numerous people from SRL, SCAR, hell even AR.

The reason I posted it here; is because this community is obviously older that powerbot and I assumed it would be able to provide some more information. With the exception of Flight and Coh3n, I was horribly mistaken.

Evosonic - developed another version of RuneBot, the name of which I have forgotten
Fasga - had nothing to do with the RS cheating scene but was a very talented programmer. I met him in Dodian's early days, as one of the first few public RSPS. Ran his own educational website for programming (Codefasga.com, does it still exist?).

wot? These people are just two that I saw from the list as I fast scrolled. Mind you that as I scrolled I felt myself being transferred to another dimension known as the Matrix. I met Neo, and he said that I had to confront whoever was responsible for the bombardment of irrelevance that had been introduced to his world.
Like seriously, make a standard for who qualifies. If the bot had a community of 10000+ and lived for longer than 6 months, I would say it is worthy. Most of those half developed bots probably never had more than 100 active users and at best had the maturity of the powerbot forums.

Fasga was one of the first people to use the asm lib in an updater and he made his own bytecode lib, although that's nothing major . I have a copy of it knocking around some where.

I've gone over this at least three times now, it's because people (read: you) are only giving a very basic outline of what's wrong with the thread instead of making any effort to contribute…how about telling us who should be taken off? who should be added, and why?

I thought I was fairly well clear on who should be removed… I mean there was like a 4 post discussion with that Cov fellow, where we discussed how simple script writers (especially that of merely a miner) really didn't need recognition in that type of scenario.

It's a slippery slope when you start to let in someone low tier like a script writer (this includes someone like myself), because that changes the entire tiering for who even deserves that kind of recognition - a script IS NOT remotely comparable to a whole botting framework or anything of the sort. And the fact that a miner gets recognition, as well as other non-descript scripters, is a part of the slippery slope. Why let in low-tier scripters (miner being one of the easier things to script) and ignore all the higher tier scripters (with me even having named one).

I thought that was all fairly well clear and described in my prior messages…

I should be on list because I'm grats.

I support this suggestion.

hoodz, Krazy_Meerkat and elfyyy - The thread on powerbot gives these three the title of "creators and developers of SRL's reflection include for Simba over at Villavu".

I didn't actually do a lot of work on SRL Reflection unless you count supplying the hooks and giving advice when it came to getting data from the client. Naike was the one who convinced me to help rebuild SRL Reflection and he was the one largely involved with programming the pascal side of things. Eventually others were brought on and people moved on with life.
Most of my contribution to the RS cheating community is done through private channels rather than publicly anyways.

I was a bit annoyed that NKN got credited with making Reflection's updater when I only sourced his .Jar Downloader.. The credit should go to N3ss3s, Frement, Sirenia, NKN and myself (As stated in Hooks.Simba) because those were the contributors to our updater (even though I put everything together and maintain it with Frement's help).
It would be great if someone knew anything about the previous updater from SRL-Reflection. There doesn't seem to be any info about it (even in the reflection sub-forum)..
Also flight, the majority of the OSR-Reflection include is not copied from the old SRL-Reflection include. Some of it is the same or relatively similar to the old methods. Many functions in the current include were not in the old reflection include and some functions they had are no longer possible in the new include. You might say that it's like Aerolib because we didn't want to "Take-over" the official include, we only wanted to make a reflection include which functions in OSR and offers Anti-Random support. We basically started from scratch and added any old functions which were useful (giving credit ofc) and still applicable (most of which needed modifying to work with the current hooks/client). All the solvers are made by us.

It was also a bit sad to see how little was known about the old SRL developers and well known SRL-scripters such as StarBlaster100, RsN, pups and Lorax who rarely get a mention anywhere, even though they contributed some amazing functions and inspired others to do the same..

Not sure how no one knows who wrote the old updater (one of them at least)..

It was written by: Iamadam. That I am sure of. I think it's still on google too. I don't know about includes and updaters for SRL but I can't see it being too hard with hooks from JH.

As with what Kevin was talking about above if the intentions of this thread were to name important scripters then of course it would be much bigger. This is directed towards programmers and their contribution to the RS cheating scene. I believe we could name names all day of script-writers or just important people in general who somehow made an impact on the SRL community.

Perhaps it wouldn't be such a crazy idea to create a thread honoring important people in SRL history and posting it somewhere on the forums.

I like this idea - lots of history here!
