SMART Window Larger than 800x600?

I'd like to be able to use SMART at a size larger than the typical fixed setup for RS3. Is it possible to spawn a larger window with the "resizeable" option enabled in Runescape? Will this mess up pretty much all of the includes?

No with srl-6 you wont.

Yep, pretty much everything will mess up. SRL 6 is solely for the small sized RS.

Ah that's a shame. I can imagine a few scenarios where having a larger screen would increase the productivity of a script. Thanks for the quick replies at least!

While SRL-6 will fail, if you want to set up a larger SMART window, you can use the following:

smart.create(XSizeHere,YSizeHere, '', ['OpenGL32.dll']);
You can still script without SRL-6 (make your own includes based on the new screen size) but it would be really annoying.

Can the opengl be substituted for directX in some way? I find the latter more stable in most cases. The script in question is quite simple and I might be able to get away with redoing some of the includes (after I learn more about scripting, anyway). Do you think a larger screen size would even be desirable in the community?

For the DirectX question, go here and get the plugin. Then just tell the script which plugin to use, and set your RS graphics accordingly and you'll be in business. No further changes to the script need to be made.

The code you're looking for will look like this:

smartPlugins := ['OpenGL32.dll','d3d9.dll'];

The d3d9.dll is the one you'll be downloading.

As for the screen size question, some users might enjoy scripting for a bigger screen, perhaps less walking. However, the bigger the screen, the more system resources you will use. But I think it would be beneficial for the scripter/end user to have the option. Options are never a bad thing.

Thanks so much for that information :o Took me some hours to figure out how to use color detecting functions using SMART in DirectX :) Finally did it, thanks!

Glad I was able to help. :D

Doing a larger screen may also take much more system resources, I am not sure on this, can anyone confirm for me? I am curious about it.

Yes, it's going to mess up with includes. If you make your own scripts, though, it could be a good idea. To spawn a client with different dimensions, run this simple script:

program CustomizedClientCreator;
{$DEFINE SMART}
{$I SRL-6/SRL.simba}

begin
smartCreateClient(1900, 970); //This is the width and height of the client. (w, h)
end.

To target the client you've just created, open the client's debug window. Notice the number that appears on the left of each sentence there? For example: 'SMART[11036]:'. Get this number (11036 in this case) and write this in the script you are making:
smartSetAsTarget(11036);
The only problem is that you'll have to change that number everytime you create a client. There is probably a way to make the script target the only target available… I'm too lazy to do that now, though :O Been working for me and my simple scripts (One that maintains myself logged in and one that caps in kiln at the citadel).

If you want to make it target automatically, try to use smartGetPIDs. It's a TIntegetArray, so if you know how to work with arrays it should be easy to figure out how to do it. For more SMART funcions go to C:\Simba\Includes\srl-6\lib\misc then open the smart file there.
