computer freeze up

When I did the mal ware bytes scan for my windows xp laptop it began to freeze up every 30 minutes ever since I did the scan. I also scanned my vista desktop and the next day All of the desktop items sent away and could only be accessed through the desktop shortcut in the directory. Now today the vista computer froze up just like my win xp laptop would and it's now doing some type of file check thing..

Back on desktop, this is what the desktop looks like:

I'm not saying it was malwarebytes that froze my computer.. but the 2 i have used it on have started freezing afterwards

Ever since I have scanned my computer on the desktop opening files has been extra slow (Taking like 10 seconds to open a simba file)

I have a 32 bit version of vista not sure if I should re-install or not

go to control panel, and go to uninstall a program, and uninstall malware bytes. if your still lagging then its not the problem, but most likely your processor/ram is too weak to handle the malware bytes scans

I have a 4 core processor running at 2400 mhz

It's not the scan that freezes it.

Just reinstalled windows and now the Internet doesn't work

Reinstall Windows 7.

save all your drivers onto a pendrive beforehand.

not wasting my time with pirated shit, the current version is working fine and I only need to use it for 1 more month

I'm sure it's better and faster, but just cba to spend another few hours doing something that I won't benefit from ATM

Of all the OS's you chose to reinstall.. You made the worst most diabolical choice.. Vista..

Never knew IE had it's own drivers.. What exactly are you talking about.. IE rubs out of the box without additional OS drivers..

Internet I meant. I couldn't connect to the internet so I had to download the RealTek driver for it

The reason I don't want to install windows 7 is because I don't want to spend a couple hours downloading it and then a couple hours installing it when I'm going to be using the computer only for another month. I only installed vista because I have the disk and I don't like dealing with pirated bullshit because I'm pretty sire that help contribute to issues in the first place (even though I only torrent from VIP and Trusted)

What download speed do you have lmao, you spend more time finding/installing drivers than you will do installing 7 + cracking it.
I dont know how you install pirated OS's but if you think its a pain you are doing it wrong.

Windows 7 Ultimate 32Bit: http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net/win/X17-59463.iso
Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit: http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net/win/X17-59465.iso

then just use Daz's loader after the OS has been installed (i normally just make a bootable USB and throw the loader on it too). Google it, i don't think i am allowed to post links to illegal stuff.

By internet do you mean drivers for your NIC/NID? Reason i suggested Windows 7 was because it has automatic driver installing (it tries to get all the recommended drivers)

If you don't want to pirate it, just use it until the trial dies.. I think it's roughly 30 days to activate. Something like that.

@Kasi; Re-formated USB and used different software to write the .iso file to the usb.. booted the usb and it wouldn't let me install windows because it said it couldn't find any new drivers

On the other hand windows updated and the look is back to normal, colors are no longer blurry

Should work fine.

What am I supposed to use rufus for… I don't understand do I use it during the installation process or is it converting the ISO file to the usb or what?

Yes, you need to make a bootable USB. So you can boot it when you restart your computer.

I did that with a different program and got the drivers error. So you think that this will will prevent that?

… great can't even close it with task manager

Vista for you, try Go to process->end process tree.

Yeah, make sure you use USB 2.0. I doubt your vista comp has 3.0 anyways.

windows 7 was good. But I think 8.1 is better(idc about the hate). I always duo boot windows with linux. Current setup is linux mint with windows 8.1. Windows vista sucks though, imo atleast.

I never have any of the problems other people have with vista. The only thing I don't like about it is the amount of RAM it used.
