Hey guys, I was curious whether I would be able to use my script in the First Scripts section to apply for membership? I'm not ready to apply yet, and neither is the script, but I'm just wondering if I will be able to use it once it is finished.

While the script runs near flawlessly, and until you run out of supplies, it doesn't have a lot of features I would like to see in a "complete" script. Once I get a few more features added, as well as buttoning up the standards and such, could I apply with it, or would I need to write a script from scratch for another task?

Also, I realize the script is not the end-all most important part of the application, and I need to improve/increase my presence here at SRL, just wondering about the script at this point.

You can apply with any script you've written including your first script. It's best to apply with a script that includes the things mentioned in this great tutorial here: http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=74195

The application script does not need to be from scratch, it is even advisable to apply with a script that you've ad feedback on. :)

Thanks man! Looks like an herblore script alone isn't going to cut it. It appears I'll at least be needing to include that GE walk/buy/return after all. Better get crackin'!

I would argue that the script is the most important part actually. In a script, we can see your dedication, attention to detail, and overall skill. If you are an extremely prominent and helpful member of the community though, that definitely gives bonus points.

Best of luck! Applying is a great learning process. I was certainly given no mercy when I applied, but the critique I received was very educational and has made me a much better script writer overall.

For me something that makes you stand out in participation is more important than the script.

make sure you mainly use color for the detection method unless it is for walking
