So, now that touchscreen computers, as well as other devices, are touchscreen and compatible to play Runescape; How is the Jagex response to this? I know they used to detect just clicking, without mouse movement; as 'botting' or 'macroing', by using a plain old auto clicker. This would be almost the exact same thing, but you would be playing legitimately alongside everyone else.
How would the Jagex response be to a player who is using a touchscreen and playing? Do you think there would even be a response? If so, could it be considered 'unfair' towards other players?
Do you think that it may be potentially quicker to do operations this way? IE Combat, woodcutting, mining, banking. - If so, could this be a reason to be considered 'unfair' towards other players, or 'illegitimate' gameplay?
Anything can be considered unfair IE one guy might be using a old computer with 1 gig of ram and a 1.2 Ghz processor, and another guy might be using a computer with 16 gigs of ram and 2.4 Ghz processor. Or 1 guy might have 25.00 Mbps internet speed, and the next guy might have dial up.
So no, I don't think Jagex will respond much to this although touchscreen might look like a script without mouse movements

This is more of what my concern was. I just didn't want an assumed botting when i'm actually not and then get checked up on later when I am :ninja:
Gonna just take the safe side and not use it :duh:
Thanks Barbrady

Don't worry, I am pretty sure Jagex doesn't use as much biometric data as we think they do.

Hey man
I'm guessing you're using a touchscreen PC then? If you are could you do me a favour and give this script a run, just move your mouse around a bit by touching the screen and then post the debug box here for me please?
program mousePos;
var
i, x, y : Integer;
begin
for i:= 0 to 500 do
begin
getMousePos(x, y);
writeLn(intToStr(x) + ', ' + intToStr(y));
wait(5);
end;
end.
Thanks!

That's a nice idea, interested to see how it turns out. I'd assume that a touch would instantly move the mouse to the touched location (meaning it would "jump" there). Similar to if I invoke moveMouse(x, y) on a Robot object in java.
