Application Idea

I was thinking if we had a quiz were we would make the applicant answer some simple questions, for example a few questions asking about some srl functions and how to use them, a few solve this script questions. If they got a 95% success rate then only can they submit a script.

Whats everyone think?

Hey thats really good idea, because you guys have seen what kind of these SRL member applications are nowadays…

Yeah but than it could also ween out copiers and stop people using simple scripts to attempt to get in. It wouldnt be an extreemly hard test but it would be like solve this procedure

Procedure AutoRetaliate(Setting:String);
var CurTab: integer;
begin
CurTab := getcurrenttab;
GameTab(1)
wait(100+Random(100));

If FindColor(x, y, 1777020, 624, 385, 719, 396) and
(LowerCase(Setting) = 'off') then Mouse(x,y,0,0,true);

If (FindColor(x, y, 5330261, 624, 385, 719, 396)) and
(LowerCase(Setting) = 'on') then Mouse(x,y,0,0,true);

GameTab := getcurrenttab;
end;

or explain what the three main types of variables are and what they are used for and why shouldnt clickmouse be used in a script. I would contribute time to check the answers for the quiz

Thats a good idea, but forget the part of dissasembaling a script… I think they should have to answer a few questions, like what does Flag; do, what does GameTab(10); do, or simple procedures/functions included in the library.

I think they should have to explain cases as well. cases are useful.

They should have like 6 options to choose from.

Like one question would be:

What one of the following is SRL's mouse function:
A. MoveMouse
B. ClickMouse
C. CMouse
D. MoveMouseSmooth

Etc…

Nice, a quiz, sounds like a good idea.
It should be easy questions that every scripter can answer :)

Makes sence. Isnt there one at Mopar if you even wish to register?
Thats okay that people register without quizes and stuff but that quiz in the application before the application could be submitted would be nice.

Great!

Atleast we won't see scripts like

program New;
begin
end.

I like the idea

Would greatly improve the applications

OMG this is the best idea I've heard yet about apps. We should definitely implant this. Just have the devs, or us, brainstorm some semi-difficult questions.

But then couldnt they just ask other people for the answers? or like take 10 minutes to look it up?

Leechers won't try that hard.

just make sure the quiz is dynamic then?

lol. this way they do not keep getting asked the same q over and over when they reply.

Just make it so they can do the quiz only once/twice a month.

Save their IP & the date they last tried or something in a mysql database.

And it has to definitely be like 95% or more…

But proxies… hmm…

Shh! Don't suggest proxies. If they wanted into SRL that bad they might be worth having.

Thats what you get when you think of a great idea :)

I don't think this will be implemented though?

Should, though.

Would be awesome.

If we could get Wizzup? or Fakawi or Boreas to look at this it might be implemented.

Wizzup?

After a few days you can probably find a solver for the quiz, lol remember every one here is a cheater.
It might be an idea….

Make a really really big array of questions? :)

All good ideas.
But im not sure all of that is possible with VBulliten.
But who know.

I know the apps are a bit out of contoll, but why do we care so much?
Just make a post telling them that they need a good script and your done.

Bobarkinator

2007-06-14 23:26:55

But if we did this then we could spend more time and focus on the good apps because I personally believe that right now our standards for SRL Member are a little bit low because of all the bad apps and people voting yes because they actually applied with their own script.

A good idea in my opinion.. Should filter some sad cases and saves few minutes of people's time.. But not really that necessary. Mods and admins are quite effective at closing the empty/copied applications. But still would be nice.

I beleiev that if we got tghis to work, it would be great :)

A sugegstion to add to it. I can't rememeber who suggested. But we should all have error'd scripts, that way only a scripter can fix and run. Maybe we could "break" a script, and ask them to get it working again?

LordGregGreg

php can do this no problem. It can be dynamic and have dynamic variable names and stuff. It would still need a big array of questions, but it would work. Oh, and It should be timed, only 1 app per month allowed.
If they make a new user adn apply again, then it will accept the app, but auto decline for post count < 10 (but don't say why, just say they failed the quiz.
