Hey guys. I haven't been around lately, so I decided to start a thread about everyone's favorite little game right now: Flappy Birds!

What's your highest (LEGIT) score that you've gotten so far? I'll start by posting mine:

And for some reason I can only get my high scores under weird conditions. Like being half asleep or while in the car while having someone talk to me. Weird huh?

With the latest update (on Android), though, the game is extremely laggy to the point where I can't even play anymore. :(

I played it only once, couldn't get past level 3, probably because it got too boring for me.
By the way,the game is being taken removed for good, from the appstores (Android + Apple) within the next 11 hours.

Interesting. I'd like to know the actual reason for taking it down. I think it's awesome that such a simple game can become so popular.

I just need an idea like that! $50,000 a day doesn't sound too bad. :p

The 'difficulty' of the game made some of the players send hate on his twitter, online and social media, and youtube.
The developer is a person who lives in Vietnam, making $50k USD a day is probably double the whole GDP of the economy of Vietnam itself.

If it really gets taken down, think of how many clones might come out from other developers in hopes to pick up on that ad revenue or just sell a clone itself because the original maker isn't there anymore.

Huh, weird.

Sorta. Its been almost a year since the game was first released on the app stores, and it wasn't till about a montho ago where it began catching popularity.
His twitter feed seems sad :/

$50k per day, amazing. Until today I've never heard of the game, I've been hooked on Dead Trigger 2. Based on the article he's taking it down based on the criticism he's getting, which is really a shame. I can't imagine how much hate it takes to force one to stop their method of making so much money.

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if he was threatened of a lawsuit by Nintendo for using their graphics/sounds. I know he denies this, but it would make sense. Criticism is part of game development, I feel like he'd know how to take it.

As far as I know the app will still be on your device if it gets removed from the store. And I'm sure people have ripped the .apk already.
People will continue to play and he will still rake in a few grand a day. But he will have no problems with copyrights, the Google playstore, Apple app store or anything.

Also considering the fact that he lives in Vietnam he can probably retire by now.

Anyways, my highest score so far is 23 on my father's iPad. On my phone it's only 14. It's a lot easier on a bigger screen - or it might run a bit better on iOS?

Two friends of Dong said Nintendo had sent him a warning letter. However the Japanese game maker said it was not considering a lawsuit.

"It sounds very much like a rumour, and if it is, we certainly can't comment on that," Nintendo's media representative told Reuters on Friday.

Perhaps there's no official pressure but a ton of overwhelming unofficial pressure that he just doesn't want to deal with anymore. :(

Well the highest score in the world is in 18 digits, so I'd say there's some kind of hack, yes.

Yeah, there's a hack out that let's you edit your score to anything (it has a max number of some sort) if you have an android device.

iOS is a lot harder to get a high hacked score on.

It runs smooth on iPhone 5S o: But my sister's iPhone ( 4 ), it's extremely laggy!
But my best mark was 78 :/
