OSR Revamp

I don't know if this is too much to lay out there, but it has been mentioned and such that the OSR section is in a bit of a slow patch. There are a lot fewer scripts than there were some months ago and I have some problems with a few of the scripts that are up even now (Jelk's Catherby, ineedbots' AIO chopper, etc.). This isn't a help request thread for my specific problems (if you think you can help, please let me know lol) but rather a suggestion that the OSR section be given a combing over. Instead of pulling down the scripts that aren't working right now and filling out the broken list a little more, though, I suggest the scripts and threads be given new breaths of life. I'm not imagining a hijacking of the threads, of course, but rather a friendly update/revitalization. I don't really know to what degree this would offend some of the scripters who may/may not be coming back to RS/SRL, but I know that I would be proud to see something I hadn't worked on in months have been kept alive in my absence by the community I developed it for. In addition to that, I feel like bringing some of the more promising scripts up to speed could catalyze more activity (if that's a goal =P).

What's the opinion on this and how reasonable is this to suggest/see? I know it takes time, scripting skill and motivation but I feel like it's a good cause =)

Many members left SRL when RS3 was released (as SRL5 was broken, and the forums were at a standstill), which is probably why the majority of the scripts are not being maintained. Although you have some valid points, I can’t see anything major happening in the OSR area until Flight is finished with his new include, the majority of the random solvers are functional, and the reflection include continues to be developed. There are a small number of SRL members devoting the majority of their time to these projects leaving little time to actually write scripts. Other SRL members who are actively writing scripts are doing so for SRL6 and RS3 (like myself). Scripters have always come and gone from these forums, and new users that take the time to learn how to code is what keeps SRL alive. You seem like an intelligent person, I’m sure you could give it a go, you’ll be surprised at what you can achieve :)
