This question, or similar questions have been asked many times before. Unless you know what you're doing, the simple answer is no.

Some neat information about SMART is here: http://blanddns.no-ip.org:81/index.php/SMART

As far as scripting with simba I know what I am doing. But I don't know where to begin with smart honestly.

OKAY! Approx 3hours and 30minutes dedicated to reading all of SMART line by line and understanding what each part does (to the best of my ability) with a little research on parameters and nativebuffer. I have a decent understanding on the whole gizmo.

Now–after reading all of that–without having to change lines in the java make-up of SMART I can change
params[0] := ' ';
params[1] := '';

smartCurrentTarget := 0;
smartCurrentTarget := SmartSpawnClient('java.exe', replaceWrap(PluginPath, '\', '/', [rfReplaceAll]), params[0], params[1], 765, 556, '', '', '', '');
to open another web address.

So I want to test this with SoulSplit,

The problem I'm now encountering is a resize error:
    @Override
public void appletResize(int i, int i1) {
//Perhaps this has changed... REGARDLESS its a valid response.
throw new RuntimeException("Resizing the applet is a BAD idea ;)");
}

Most private servers, including SoulSplit will attempt to resize the applet with will cause SMART to fail, but perhaps if the initial size is correct it will not. I have not tested.

What can I do?

w := 765;
h := 557;
__smartCurrentTarget := smartSpawnClient(path, stringReplace(PluginPath, '\', '/', [rfReplaceAll]), 'http://soulsplit.com', '/playnow/play.php?height=667&width=1351', w, h, smartInitSeq, '', '', plugins);

With the above, you'll still get the applet resizing error. Your only solution is to recompile Smart and simply remove the exception.. Just ignore the resizing instead of throwing..

That's about all I can think of. There's not point to trying Smart in private servers simply because they do not have a canvas and so you won't be able to grab any colours..

** no point in loading ones without opengl :)

Your plugin works for servers as long as they are in opengl mode

In regards to your private messages:

You need to "override" or remove the "throw runtime_exception" from Smart's appletResize method. If you do that, Smart will simply ignore the resize call and you can then load the private server.

You'll need Java JDK to recompile Smart after making the changes. You'll also need Mingw/gcc/g++ with MSYS for windows to invoke the makefile. On linux you can just invoke it as long as you have gcc installed.

EDIT: Ah nvm.. CBA to teach how Smart's internals work.. Try replacing your Smart.jar with:
May or may not work but you won't get the resize exception anymore.. I just commented it out.
