Running multiple simbas and smarts at once.

Of course there have been many threads like this, but those are now outdated.
When I try to run multiple simbas and smarts, the second smart window is grey and it doesn't work, for some reason.
It loads the same java as the other smart, maybe that has something to do with it? I could make it load a different java, but how do I set a different java path internally from script, and could that possibly help?

I'm on a 64 bit windows 7 machine. Thanks.

You /should/ be able to run multiple simbas each with their own SMART. If all of the simbas are running the same script though, i would suggest saving how many ever copies in different folders and running each script from there to stop simba from pairing with an already running smart.

(testing 2 right meow to see if one goes grey)
Yup. both loaded up fine.

Is this for OSR or RS3?

RS3 and doesn't work with different scripts and different simbas. It pairs with a different smart, and the smart window does appear, but it is grey and doesn't load runescape.. Maybe I should set it to different worlds.

Edit: it is already download RS jars from different worlds..

Have you tried using just one simba, but multiple tabs instead for multiple smarts?

Anymore information on computer specs? such as proc/gfx card. perhaps installed java versions?

Maybe even a screenshot of the greyed smart?

Go to your java folder and see if there is more than 1 java file like v7rev45 and v6rev9. I had something like that and it screwed with my SMARTS. Also, are you running each script from a different folder in your computer? If both of the files are in your Simba/Scripts folder then you will have pairing issues.

How the second smart looks.

This doesn't help. It looks as though your applet isn't even starting at all. Maybe an exception was thrown by the client or by Smart itself or it might be stuck. It looks like what happened to RSPS servers loaded in Smart prior to v8.3.

You need to enable Smart's console and copy paste everything printed in it. You can do that by doing smartShowConsole := True;

Then you'll see a console window showing. Copy paste it all.

Wth? I mean.. I was right -___- (same problem as RSPS servers, how disappointing) No Canvas detected.. If that really is the case, something in Smart will need to be re-written/fixed OR there may be a problem on `your` system. I just tested Smart with JDKu45 and there is no problem. I'm going to update to JDKu51 and see what changed if any.. Otherwise you're going to have to uninstall Java, delete `D:/Program File(x86)/Java` folder and re-install.

EDIT: Updated to JDKu51, no problem here..

C:\Users\Brandon>"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -version
java version "1.7.0_51"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_51-b13)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 24.51-b03, mixed mode, sharing)

Script:

{$DEFINE SMART}
{$i SRL-6/SRL.Simba}

begin
SetupSRL;
end.

I ran the above in one Simba, two tabs. Not sure why your Smart would be detecting no canvas but try deleting your RS cache and everything above.

Either that or for some reason on `your system`, this timeout is actually reached:

try {
for (int i = 0; i < 10 && clientApplet.getComponentCount() < 1; i++) {
Thread.sleep(200);
}
} catch (Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}

if (clientApplet.getComponentCount() < 1) {
Main.debug("No Canvas detected. Either RS has changed or using nonstandard applet.");
//.....
//....
}

which means that it is taking your system more than `2 seconds` to detect if the applet has a canvas.. You can try bugging Ben to increase the timer OR compile yourself a version with an increased timer.. If not, I'll try and compile you one when I get home in roughly 4-5 hours from the time of this post..

Maybe I'll actually download a compiler on this laptop and compile you a version before then.. I'll see. Try bugging Ben first though (give him a link to this post). If he doesn't want to hear you out because maybe your comp is slow? I'll download the compiler and help you out and see if it helps at all.

If it can't load the components on the page in 2 seconds, how do you expect it to run a second copy of RS? Related, how much ram is in this machine?

8 gb. It's not that. And the cpu is amd fx 8320.

I'm still curious, what version of Java is installed, and did you install the 32 bit or 64 bit version?

And have you tried using just one simba, but multiple tabs instead for multiple smarts?

I have two javas, both 32 and 64 bit.

Tried running in same simba different tabs, same results.

It uses the 32 bit one.

This +1.. Though, I don't think I have ever seen anyone ever have this problem except with RS private servers. Just weird that OP has 8GB ram and an ok CPU and still has this..

Do NOT change your Java path to the 64 bit one. Simba does NOT work quite well in 64-bit mode atm.. Smart will but Simba won't. There aren't any 64-bit shipped extensions either. You'll also have to install a 64-bit Simba to even load 64-bit Smart. So again, avoid that (for now).

Try these plugins:

I changed Smart's code to:

try {
int i = 0;
for (; i < 100 && clientApplet.getComponentCount() < 1; i++) {
Thread.sleep(200);
}

if (clientApplet.getComponentCount() > 0) {
Main.debug("It took: " + (i * 200) + "ms to detect the canvas..");
}
} catch (Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}

The above should make Smart print: "It took Xms to detect the canvas..". It will wait a maximum of 20 seconds (aka 20000ms)! That is much more than you can possibly need. If it still does not detect the canvas, there is a problem..

Anyway, copy the plugins from the above dist.zip file to ~/Simba/Plugins. Replace all if it asks you to. Then run this:

{$DEFINE SMART}
{$I SRL-6/SRL.Simba}

begin
smartShowConsole := True;
SetupSRL;
end.

Copy paste Smart's output to this thread.

Technically, though you would have to try this, you should be able to load a 64 bit smart and connect to it with a 32 bit simba as long as you have the 64 bit smart binaries also.

But not in Simba? Not sure. I always had problems loading x64 binaries in an x32 program. Well not loading but linking statically. Not sure how it'd work dynamically but I get the following in Simba x32 loading Smart x64 (Simba x64 loading Smart x64 is fine):

Current Simba version: 1004
Latest Simba Version: 1004
Loading plugin libsmartremote64 at C:\Simba\Plugins\
Loading plugin libsmartremote64 at C:\Simba\Plugins\
formWriteln: Exception in Script: Plugin(libsmartremote6432) has not been found
Loading plugin libsmartremote64 at C:\Simba\Plugins\

Loading plugin libsmartremote64 at C:\Simba\Plugins\
Loading plugin libsmartremote64 at C:\Simba\Plugins\
Loading plugin libsmartremote64 at C:\Simba\Plugins\
formWriteln: Exception in Script: Error loading C:\Simba\Plugins\libsmartremote6
4.dll:

{$loadlib libsmartremote64.dll}
begin
end.

It however will not have errors like this using libsmartremote32.dll:

{$loadlib libsmartremote32.dll}
begin
end.

works just fine. Eventually OP "might" have to indeed install x64 Simba and try that but let's see how the modified plugins go first?

Same results whatsoever. It's not too slow to detect canvas, there is no canvas.. Game crashes beforehand or so it seems.

*sigh*.. Pretty frustrating right about now..

Try this:

Unzip it to your desktop. Open CMD then type:

cd desktop
java -jar RSLoader.jar

Open another CMD and do the same thing. Does it load RS twice? Copy paste the output for both CMD's.

The reason I ask is because this will let us know if it is Smart or what not. The error you're actually getting "error_game_crash" is actually from the game itself and it is crashing when Smart calls Client.clientApplet.init();

which shouldn't be happening if Smart is loading RS correctly and everything is fine. When I call client.init in that loader, it prints:

Error: client.init:1170 sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0 sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke:57 sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke:43 java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke:606 Rs2Applet.a:139 Rs2Applet.init:392 rsloader.ClientApplet.start:151 rsloader.RSLoader.main:17 | java.lang.RuntimeException |

That might be a problem.. It loads it the same way Smart does.

bevardis

Still crashes, so it must be the game.

Edit: I might be able to sort it out using this

Oh, did I hardwire the 32bit remote plugin to only load up the 32bit version of SMART? Sorry to hijack the thread, but I might fix that at some point if it is the case. There's no fundamental reason you can't use SMART's shared memory to link a 32 and 64 bit process.

I don't know if this has been asked already, but can you load two clients in a browser successfully?

Now it works, I had to reinstall java and delete all jagex caches, but now it has trouble pairing with the client when running third simba, tho:D
Thank you guys for your quick sincere support and problem solving.:)
