TypeSend problem

In a script I've been using, it often types the action bar keyslot into public chat (instead of just activating the slot).

I'm trying to use:

TypeSend('1', false);

which works some of the time, but often spams "1" into public chat.

Edit: Alternative method worked. Thanks for the help.

Usually the chat requires you to hit enter first and you are using the call with 'false' for not pressing enter. Maybe there's a client option that changes the chat behavior so enter isn't required? Somewhere else in the script where it sends enter?

You could try SendKeys() instead of TypeSend() but it shouldn't be required.

I saw someone botting combat that was doing what you describe (typing '1' in public chat thousands of times).

Thanks for the fast reply.

sendKeys(KEY_BIND, 100, 125);

works better, but about 1/30 times enters "1" into the chat.

TypeSend('1', false);
constantly spams '1' into the chat.

I don't think it's a lag issue, cause my pc seems to run smooth.

EDIT:

I changed the values in SendKeys, and now it's working flawlessly. :)

sendKeys(KEY_BIND, 400, 400);
seemed to do the trick, maybe the values were just too low.

I'm still not sure why
TypeSend('1', false
doesn't work…something must have made it push enter.

I'm guessing this is the alchemist script (from KEY_BIND). I replied in that thread, the script will send enter if it doesn't find the expected mouseovertext.

typesend(x,false) doesn't send the enter key, so you shouldn't end up in the chat box (unless you were already in it?). I'm guessing you're not talking about a test script calling it but have it in the alchemist script.

I had issues on some of my machines where I used typesend and it didn't register the keystrokes so I used sendkeys with longer values instead. I think the default values in typesend are too small (30ms + random(30)).

Yup that's the script. I got the SendKeys working well by increasing the values which solved the problem.

I just wondered why TypeSend couldn't do the trick, I didn't start it with the public chat open, it was hitting enter after alchs..not sure why.
