-35 degree farenheight (-37 celcius) windchill in my area today. schools got closed but people still had to go to work. I live in a suburb and most people have to cross this bridge to get to work to get the the main city (rochester ny). Bridges freeze before roads because there's nothing under them to release stored heat that radiates upwards.

This dude got so lucky

So what happened? some sort of front end collision? or was that just from hitting the side?

Actual temp pl0x. We had -50F windchills yesterday and today… and those temps dont mean anything to cars/inanimate objects.

Also… we have a bridge similar near us… except the ?guard rails? are only like 3 ft tall. driving on it during the summer is even a little scary imo.

idk what happened man all i know is the dude ended up getting lucky as fuark, avoiding falling into a giant icebath and dieng.

the actual temp is 5 farenheight (-15 celc)

its nice knowing those guards can actually stop a 4000lb piece of steel going 60mph. I always wondered if they had what it took.

It's was -40C this morning without WindChill, complete whiteout, no school yesterday and today =)
-35C right now though then it goes back up to -16C in the evening.

~Canada.

@OP, that guy just had a stroke up luck. Couple more inches and he'd be frozen in that lake/river. I don't see why they drive so stupidly when they know that they're driving on just ice. No tar, no roads, no gravel, nothing. Yet you see them speeding down the highway. Couple days ago, we had a chained crash 16 cars long.

Lucky for sure. I thought icy-bridge logic was a given. I'd be pretty spooked being that close to an icy grave as well.

As for my temperature all I need to say is this; I live on the equator and I'm not complaining…:garfield:

unfortunate yet fortunate at the same time. if i was that person, i would go 2 mph on any bridge i HAD to cross for the rest of my life.
