Hey everyone, I'm sure everyone sees plenty threads about this but I've researched my issue and can't find any help on it. Basically, when I start a script, SMART refuses to start up. I just tried to test it with:

program new;
   {$DEFINE SMART} // comment this line out if you don't want to use SMART
   {$i srl-6/srl.simba}

   begin
     clearDebug();
     setupSRL();
    end.                

I let it sit there for about 5 minutes usually but nothing happens. This is the most I get:

… And nothing starts up. I've tried starting it up in my browser but unfortunately, that wasn't any help. I'm positive I set up my Simba properly, too. I'd really like to run this in SMART because I'd like to be able to use my computer while the bot is running so if anyone has any suggestions for me, I could really use them!

Slim chance this will work but have you tried running simba as admin? I know that fixed a few problems in the past.

Yesterday I had a few problems with SMART not launching, so I went to the game in a browser and loaded it from there, then went back and tried SMART. It worked after that.

I tried both of these things and I didn't get any further than usual. I'm using version 1.0 if that is any help. I have reinstalled 3 times. Is there a certain version of SMART I need to install?

Another long-shot but you could try deleting all of your jagex cache files, which are located in your user folder (C:\Users\YOU). Then do what BMW said, reload it in the browser (so it will make new cache files) and try again.

Oh wait a sec. It is doing it again. When I tried to run a script after SMART popped up, it seemed that it wasn't detecting the client. It still said "1 minute waited for RS to start" "2 minutes" etc. Then I tried to close smart and restart Simba and its back to my same old issue. Any ideas?

So did the SMART client pop up and it was stuck on the login page?

Okay when I cleared my cache and launched it, the SMART client popped up and I logged in. I pressed play on the script but nothing happened. I was in-game at the area that the script required me to be at. However, it didn't seem to detect it.

Which script? You should press play on the script you want to use, then smart pops up and it logs you in.


Make sure you have set your interfaces correctly so the can be detected (old school preset, slim headers, no transparency etc.) and make sure your graphics settings are correct (openGL, fixed mode, minimum settings)

I'm trying to run Ashaman's salamander script. I just fixed all my graphics settings properly just like Ashaman did in the video and it still won't launch SMART. All I'm getting is:

I'm gonna play the script and let it run for 5 minutes. If it still doesn't launch, I'll post the debug report it gives me.

Oh yea I noticed sometimes it takes SMART 3-4 minutes to pop up for some reason :(

Okay I waited about 6-7 minutes on this one and then stopped it. Here is the debug.

This is beyond my level of expertise :( at a guess its something to do with java or plugins, but it's weird how it worked after you cleared the cache. Have you updated your SRL plugins to the latest?

In Simba click View -> Extensions -> enable srl.sex

then SRL -> Check for update

I did all that whenever I set it up. :( I'll just clear my cache again and see if I can make some progress from there.

No need to worry about it guys. I think AVG was having some sort of conflict with RS. It has trouble starting up on the browser too. I just temporarily disable it when I start scripts up. Thanks for the help though!

If you still use AVG or Norton in 2014, you're going to have a problem. Get Avast or ESET Nod32.. If you are scared of malware then get malware bytes.
Couple that with adblockplus for chrome and firefox.

I like to live dangerous and I don't use AV's or anything anymore but yeah, you should really switch anti-viruses or else you're just wasting your time with what you have right now.
