RESOLVED THANKS!

Its good to be back, however the same feeling that hit me in the face when I loaded RS3 hit me when I saw the debug box for simba. "Wtf is this sht!"

Anyway hopefully someone can help me! Oh and yes Followed this: http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47714

When I try to run this:

program new;
{$DEFINE SMART}
{$i srl-6/srl.simba}

begin
clearDebug();
setupSRL();
end.

This is the debug box: ( AND For some reason god knows why a new windows explorer window opens to this location: " C:\Users\Jonno\Documents"

You have to set your java path

What exactly needs changing?

Variable name: Simba

Variable value: C:\Program Files\Java

This is what it is currently where does it need to be and does anything else need changing?

Thanks.

All previous versions of java have been removed. I currently have Java 7 Update 45 installed.

Hmm, might have to get him to post how he fixed, he worked quick.

Simba being in in c:\

He added Java path to C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\

Then from memory he did a hacky fix, copied contents from jre6 to 7 or 7 to 6 I forget. @Justin You know how it went down.

That was it.

Very dirty fix:

Simba was looking for java jre 6, made a folder called jre6 and copy/pasted jre7 into the jre6 folder.

That doesn't seem right. I wonder if the SRL code is looking for a Java 6 folder.

When I went into cmd and executed 'java -version' it was returning JRE 7.45, not sure why it was looking for 6

I just took a look at the code and the method looks for "jre" (no specific version). How did you figure out it was looking for 6? It should have just looked in whatever jre folder was in /Java/.

In the picture that was attached

In the /Java/ folder, there was the jre6 folder that had 'docs' and then there was a jre7 folder that had the bin, lib, src ect

E: Was able to reproduce this issue. I created a empty folder in 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Java' called 'jre6' and I was unable to launch smart (same error as above).

Maybe there needs to be some type of loop in the include to check all folders in the \Java\ folder for the latest version?

Yeah I just did the same thing to recreate it. There already is a loop, but it breaks on the first jre folder found.

I'll update it now to use the user's latest version.

Thanks Coh3n.
Done. I tested it and it returns 'jre7' even if there's older version folders in the directory.

I just found out you can compare strings in Lape.

writeln('Hello' > 'Apple');
writeln('Hello' = 'Hello');
writeln('Orange' < 'Zebra');
Can come in handy. :)

Only if it was correct. I'm gonna be honest, I would way rather have an aardvark than an apple:
writeln('Aardvark' < 'Apple');
So sad. Someday the word comparisons will always be accurate. *Hopeful look to the future*

I'm confused. That writes "True" for me. I may be going insane, but that seems correct to me.

In all coding concepts aardvark should be less than apple as it is a character ascii based comparison (a is an earlier and therefore lower valued ascii thsn p). I was however trying to make a bad joke as to how the object represented by the word (an actual aardvark) would be worth more than an actual apple.

Sorry, it was just a corny joke.
