I can't seem to be able to connect, either. But I have noticed that the web IRC client is pretty buggy so you could try again later

I used, mibbit.com/chat
Has yet to fail me, the only problem is when you get kicked :p rejoining you have to close everything and re-open…Just try not to get kicked haha.
