SRL Archive - Who Are You ? Who ? Who ?

Hey hey,

Thought I'd throw you all a swift introduction of myself, as you may be seeing my name around the forums more frequently in the near future. Being a moderator over at RiD ( robotzindisgiuse, check it out if you haven't already), I sit upon a fair amount of experience within the realm of botting, despite not having played Runescape, or any video game for that matter, in several years.

I know some basic programming, although I have other aspirations in life which are prioritized, hence I doubt you'll see me publishing any scripts or contributing to the software development of Simba. I certainly do hope however that I can be a valuable asset to the community :).

In order to draw attention away from my dreadfully uninteresting introduction, allow me leave you guys and gals with a cute kitten.

Haha yeah I'm a major lurker from time to time ;). I have known of Simba for years, although seeing as I don't play Runescape I never really got around to participate to the community or test the client.

How is the client working anyway? I noticed your script section wasn't exactly over-flowing, although I understand that this is due to the SRL6 update?

My understanding is that most of the good scripts are in a special section to prevent leechers from crashing the RS market.

We can neither confirm nor deny what happens in the members section…


But you are right that the main reason there aren't many public RS3 scripts was due to the RS3 update, and a whole new include was made for it - so it's just starting to pick up again.

The combination of RS3, less players, and SRL6 all timing at roughly the same time has taken a fairly large hit on the quantity of scripts around here absolutely. It was a big enough change to desire straight up rewrites of many scripts and in the scale of larger things like Slayer… Well that probably won't be rewritten anytime soon while other easier things still need to be redone.
The last week or so has seen a better resurgence of scripts with 1-2 a day being released publicly now, but it'll still be a little bit before we have a decent repository again. Hopefully the holiday breaks many people have will help that out even further.

To answer both of you:
There is a quantity of certain higher money-makers in the Member's section. However, even there has hit a drop since the big updates. Typically we do aim to have more public (albeit exp based) scripts than in any specialized section. What we typically aim for and what happens in this [re]setup time is not always the same however… There should be some better money-makers released publicly fairly soon.

As for special sections, we have 2 main other sections here (besides public as we are currently in). One is for Junior Member's, which has extremely low requirements to enter - I believe it's 30 posts and at least 1 month of membership on the site (someone else may correct me). It is a good middle position between full-on leeching and - Member's which requires more community dedication as well as some level of scripting ability. Hopefully, in time Junior's will have a decent level of scripts as well.
