Wanting to learn scripting.

So I used to "play" RS on a regular basis. Then life happened and I grew up. Now I am in college and have learned that I may have an interest in programming. And what better way to have a bit of fun and learn than to play a game.

My question is, Can someone point me to a good guide?

When last I played, it was around 2009-2010. Looking around the forums, I feel a little lost… There are a large number of categories to post in (IE, simba, runescape, oldschool,…). I was unsure of where to look and where to post.

I think that I would first like to make a simple script, (something like a woodcutter/fire starter), and eventually progress into something that will require more steps to accomplish.

Thanks for your time,

I learned it with yohojo's youtube tutorials. Just search yohojo in youtube and you will find his channel.

Start with the one for sure:

The rest (for RS) only work for SRL5 (not SRL6) so they don't work for EoC basically, but will for RS07.

Thanks, I had found YoHoJo's videos last night around 3:15… I have been running into an error when trying to get Simba to work though…

So I have been playing around with flash games on kongregate.com and other websites. But I am unable to get simba to select only the game client… I can select the webpage as a whole, but not the individual objects within the page. Any pointers?…

Then select the entire page, you can set the parameters for each command and it will only do its thing in said area, irk how far you are into the tutorials but if you're using a basic command such as FindColor then you'd use FindColor(var, color, x1, y1, x2, y2) and input the 2 points that make a box around what you're looking for or clicking on into the (x1, y2) and (x2, y2)
