Hey guys, sorry if these questions have been asked before and answered; bare with me as I've stopped playing for a while now.
Do Java bots still dominate? Is the game still infested with them as it was, 8 months ago?
Has JaGeX kept its promise in getting rid of bots?
Are less people playing Runescape, how is the game now?
Java bots: There are a lot of them, but many people have stopped using them due to bans. There are much fewer bots in game. Jagex has made a good effort to get rid of them, there are way less than there used to be. Still some of course, can't ban them all.
There are usually around 40k people online now, I think that's less.
As for how the game is, many people dislike EOC/RS3 because of the change but there are still people who play. Personally I've lost interest in playing/botting nearly a year ago but I still enjoy the scripting side of things.
Unfortunately due to my laptop not playing nice with OGL/RS3 resulting in lag, and my desktop not working with SMART it's a bit of a pain to have an account logged in and botting.

It's great to hear that bots have dropped considerably and that JaGeX has put effort into stopping them.
How is OSR doing? And is it still botted?

I don't play that myself, but it's still played and still botted. I think the numbers have dropped a bit since the initial launch, but I don't know for sure.

I got a two day ban one one of my accounts at the start of the summer along with several other people in that time (Jagex went strong with bans for a bit judging from powerbot threads), and there have been a few goldfarming related bans for someone recently, but generally the ban rate here is quite low. The only other recent one I can think of is
