Honest Opinions Here regarding Simba Usage

It's been a very long time since I've scripted for Simba. I would say around 3-4 years ago. This community is absolutely hands down the most professional and well behaved, and that's why I always come back. I have a few questions for you guys since it's been so long. Here they are:

How does simba compare in reliability to other automated runescape bots? Such as injection method, or java bots.

Where would you start looking for new updated tutorials on scripting? (I've had an insanely difficult time updating/prepping my simba for botting)

Also, I am interested in becoming an SRL scripter, and I would like to apply soon. Is the SRL section of the forum still pretty active?

Because the SRL junior member/Public sector is frankly quite pitiful (no offense) I just remember when over a hundred people were active on the forum at any given moment.

Thank you guys! I appreciate all the input I can get.

Other bots have the advantage with using injection/reflection because of the accuracy of these two methods. This makes creating both scripts and random-solvers are a breeze. The downfall with this, however, is every time an update occurs in-game they're temporarily broken and must update to the newest client revision, but I imagine it doesn't take them very long to do so. Simba would never stop due to updates because it visually tracks your screen. The only way updates can effect a script in Simba is differences you actually see, ie. color changes or font swaps.

The SRL-Scripter rank is recognized and voted upon by the higher ranks. It's not something you can apply for. Perhaps you're referring to SRL Members status?

It also doesn't help that rs clearly isn't close as popular as it was.

But welcome back! :)

Can't really expand upon what @Flight; and @Olly; has said, but the best way to learn is by trial and error. Took me a few days to understand the logic and flow, but once you grasp that, you're set.

Hey Kyle,

Do you have any tutorials for SRL-6? Does the understanding of the script need to be changed?

Cheers,

I haven't scripted since before SRL-6 and even EOC.

Logic never changes, just the syntax.

Welcome back, RS in it's self is in a state of decline so it should be no surprise that the forums aren't exactly all that active.

Have fun! feel free to ask anything :-).
