Hey guys, I'll be in Denver for most of next week (Monday through Thursday) for work, however I shall have every evening free in case there's anyone from there that would care to show me around the city (and/or bars).

Yea right dude, cities are shit.. I've been to the "top 50" best cities in the world, and all of them suck. Denver is no exception

Breckenridge is about 3-4 hours from Denver if he has the time?

Would have still stay overnight in Breckenridge though, and October might not be a good time to go (too cold to hike, not enough time to ski)

What about November?

It's never too cold to hike, hiking in the snow is just as good (better imo) as hiking in the not snow. Wear a good pair of waterproof hiking boots and your choice of snow gear and you're set.

Personally I recommend waterproof hiking boots, wool socks, underwear, pants (jeans are fine as long as you keep them dry, but I prefer lighter quicker drying material), synthetic long sleeved undershirt, fleece sweater, waterproof coat.

Hat and gloves are good too if you're camping, but while you're hiking you'll be so warm you won't want to wear them.

Depends on what your used to. I'm used to 60 degrees winters, I figured it would be below freezing up in the mountains (it got to 40-50 degrees when I visited there a couple summers ago at night)

I just checked and 60 F is 15.5556 C. Have you seen snow before? (If you haven't I'd highly recommend it :))

Sadly, I do not happen to have a vehicle of any kind, so anything of a distance more than 10-20 miles or so, probably isn't going to happen.

But so far, so good. I may attempt to see a concert tonight of Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage that happen to be here.
