'agex's view of botting

So botting is necessary for the nscape economy… so why don't they just create their own built in botting application (like Aryan in Moparscape)…. (make it simple like the original AutoRune) and then regulate it like normal gameplay?

Interesting thought right?

;)

not sure what agex would be trying to accomplish in creating their own autorune when it's free elsewhere :d

I think that if they made their own botting application that it would devalue the work of a lot of legit players and they'd quit.

There was enough complaining after they made Runecrafting easy with Runespan; imagine the outcry if they suddenly allowed people to automate the game?

True I guess the userbase consists mostly of young misguided addicted zombies.

I think the current system works well. Anyone who's tired of grinding can choose to bot or stop playing, and anyone who enjoys it can continue.

At the risk of banning their account ;)

Among other things…

I see your point though :)

The message Jagex used to give you when you got all 99s and quests:

Botting isn't good for the RS economy. Where did you get the idea it was good?

Good wasn't the word I used. It was necessary.

Bots supply the market with the massive raw materials which make the game possible and enjoyable. Obviously too much or too little can upset the balance of things and result in chaos.

Oh, sorry about that. However, whether bots makes the game possible and enjoyable is up for debate. Some would say bots devalue raw materials and make the experience of legit players and new players really crappy.

I would tell them to put together detailed models to help support their claims ;)
