Optional Anti-Leech

The simba community is dying slowly with less members becoming active. What I propose is that scripts have to be released in a working state but with bare minimum functionality. Commented out further down more advanced features may be implemented with anti leeches; but these, being commented out do not inhibit the startup of the original script allowing people to leech the basic scripts but it would make people want to learn even just the basics so that they could de-antileech the script and release its full potential.

Does anyone else think this is a good idea? (This doesn't break any of the current overriding simba rules)

I don't think that there would be a lot more script releases if anti leech was allowed. I think the main reason that scripts aren't released as often is that people aren't playing runescape as much anymore.

I think it's more-so that we were down for so long that it'll just take a while to get back up and running at a solid pace again.

Although, I do agree you're correct about that not being against the rules, it still stands that people have to get back up and running simba/SRL6 at a solid pace again - not to mention people have left like Ian said.

Up until RS3 things were going fine here. Just will take time to get things going again. Oops just noticed this was OSR section. I really don't think anti leech would encourage people to do more here. Why would you spend the time learning here if you could just get a script without any effort from somewhere else? (most people's thoughts not mine)

Hmm, i'd be tempted to release all of my scripts if anti-leech was allowed. It would trash the economy otherwise if leechers got there hands on them =D I only have 1 public script, I have 11 private fully functional scripts :D

@Ashaman, You have a point, but I was suggesting a partial anti-leech so that the scripts still worked without the antileech but, you would have to solve an antileech in order to get the full thing to work. I.E. Spinning function on a flax picking script.

Imo that would be allowed. For example… Ashaman's LRC Miner… it was set to mine and drop but contained 'hidden' features such as banking or superheat and stuff.

As long as your script does what it claims to do without needing to change it, it should be fine.
So in your example…
Flax Picker+
Features: Picks flax and banks
Hidden Features/'incomplete': Spins flax into bow strings.

^^ This. Plus you have to consider if what your scripts do already have a public equivalent at a more popular botting website, you releasing won't have near as much affect as you would think.

this video is already outdated. newest version makes 10 hour + runs (no fails anymore) + better combat detection. and like 20k +
extra xp per hour
a good bank finder, fire finder, dtm finding (all with failsafes). progress report
