Simba 1.0!

Friends,

This night marks a glorious night (and day), as we are finally releasing Simba 1.0. It has taking a very long time to get here. We've only gotten here by so much dedication and hard work from everyone involved; and what fun we have been having, too… This release is dedicated to everyone who has been working on SRL and Simba ever since we initially surfaced. You all rock!

Simba 1.0 can be found here: https://github.com/MerlijnWajer/Simba/releases/tag/simba-1.0 and http://simba.villavu.com/bin/Release/1.0/

Note, don't get the 64 bit release just yet. It doesn't work well.

The Fonts, Plugins and Extensions have all been updated, too.

Simba 1.0 is still a bit rushed, as I have lately been having less time to work on Simba. The script manager feature isn't fully finished yet, but I have good hopes it will be finished after 1.0, possibly as a point release (1.0.1, etc).

Should there be any bugs, regressions from 0.99.x, please let us know soon. I am pretty sure we'll be a doing a Simba point release soon, anyway. (Again, that would be 1.0.1)

New major features:
  • Script Manager (CynicRus / ReadySteadyGo / mc_teo)
  • Form designer (CynicRus)
  • Debugger (Dgby714)
  • Lots of lape (imported) classes (CynicRus / Dgby714)

New Methods:
  • IntToHex, MiddleBox, InAbstractBox, FixRad (BraK)
  • FilterPointsBox
  • IsArrInStr
  • MultiBetween
  • StringMatch
  • FindColorsBitmap
  • FilterTPAsBetween
  • MedianTPAEx and MedianTPA
  • SortATPAFromFirstPointX and SortATPAFromFirstPointY
  • TPAFromPolygon (Olly)
  • ConvertTime64 (Fratello)
  • TPAFromLine (euphemism)
  • EdgeFromBox (euphemism)
  • FilterPointsPieNatural (core)
  • AddOnTerminate, DeleteOnTerminate (core)
  • AddOnTerminate, DeleteOnTerminate [Lape] (Dgby714)
  • ClusterTPA, ClusterTPAEx (Janilabo)

Changes:
  • LoadFont updates, allows loading font from other directories.
  • More backslashes are now forward slashes. (J. Hacker)
  • A working function list in Lape! (Dgby714)
  • Moved MiddleBox to correct section (Olly)
  • Added ability to hide things from Code Insight using CodeInsight define (Dgby714)
  • A new menu option (View->Show Hidden) which shows hidden things (Dgby714) [Read above about CodeInsight define]
  • string is no longer a keyword! (Dgby714)
  • You can now edit the Source Editors font at Edit->Font. (Dgby714)
  • Lape submodule changed. Native keyword added. (Dgby714)
  • Function List overhaul!!! (Dgby714)

Bug Fixes:
  • Fix Bug 241, fix window context (BraK)
  • FilterPointsPie update (Bart)
  • ClearDoubleTPA fix (CynicRus)
  • TPathSetting bugfixes (Dgby714)
  • Fixed an issue with function list showing things multiple times. (Dgby714)
  • Fixed issues with MML Class exports in Linux for Lape (Thanks Wizzup!)
  • Fixed and Renamed TMufasaBitmap.CreateTPA to FindColors (Olly)
  • Fixed crash on start when clicking a script file (Dgby714)
  • Fixed ctrl-clicking in script (Dgby714)
  • Updated Lape Submodule (with Fix) (Dgby714)
  • Only allow mono-spaced fonts (Dgby714)
  • CodeInsight now obeys defines in Lape (Dgby714)
  • Fixed issue with Plugins in Function List (Dgby714)

It's now time to look to the future. There will be Simba point releases every now and then. Simba 1.1 or Simba 1.2 will have Linux and Windows (64 bit) support to its fullest extent.

After that I want to focus more on features we've been wanting to add for such a long time. One of them is support for Python (even though proper code hints etc is very hard for that, so don't hope on that), the other one is just making using other languages in general easier, libmml comes to mind. We will also be running scripts in processes instead of threads.

Hakuna Matata

Cheers,
Wizzup

Yeah, nice job indeed - list with plenty of good changes!
Thanks everyone! :p

I contributed Clustering methods for TPAs, so here is couple test scripts for Splitting vs. Clustering:
http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=Wsp2VEhM (test for SplitTPAEx / ClusterTPAEx)
http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=Vg6EYp71 (test for SplitTPA / ClusterTPA)

I will be improving em in pastebin within time (adding more examples), that way hoping that they will easily show in the future Pros/Cons of both algorithms (Splitting & Clustering).
They both produce same groups, only point orders will obviously differ in the groups (same points are picked of course).

NOTE: I will/shall include great deal of credits to @warpie (slacky), as he is the one who brought up the concept in the first place..
Infact, we had several friendly competitions with him about getting fastest way to do the clustering action, and I must admit, that in the end he won/beaten me EASILY.
..heck, I still don't fully understand how hes algorithm performs the magic behind the scenes! :D I understand like bits of it here and there, but damn it is impressive, like 100x better than the Clustering method I provided to Simba and I am not even kidding.
Jarl (slacky) also provided the queue part for the function I wrote, so big thanks to him… :)

Well, Olly committed some algorithms by me, but I asked him to commit few of them (algorithms) and for the rest he had a permission to do it (he always was friendly and asked/requested). :)
I don't mind at all, if he does get credit for doing it - infact, I think he still deserves the credit, because afterall he had to do plenty of changes to get em added there, so I am thankful for him doing it.

He needs to learn how to use Git properly… He could have commited the methods with you as the author then wrote the fixes as himself. (The proper way to do it)

Heh, well John, can't really blame him (Olly), because I need to learn how to use Git properly aswell - I am still pretty damn bad with it right now.. But I am getting better eventually!
=> I had hard time figuring out how to get the pull-requests through. Commits to own repos were always so easy thing to do… :D

But yeah, I totally see what you mean man. Point taken!
So, mmm… He committed these for me (taken from that list):

Work by me
-ClearDoubleTPA [improvement] - I did it by request from Olly
-ClearTPAFromTPA [improvement] - I did it by request from Olly
-MultiBetween [addition]

Work by me and warpie (slacky)
-TPAFromPolygon [addition]

But please; if possible, do credit Olly aswell. Because, like I mentioned, I really think he still deserves it anyways.
He did also give credits to me with the commits (and to slacky about TPAFromPolygon)… So, it's not like he would have "stolen" em in anyway, that is not the case at all. :)

Thanks John.

Fixed a problem with the extension updater. Apparently Simba looks for the file "exten.tar.bz2" and not "extensions.tar.bz2", which is why no one got the new extensions!

Here is a temp fix I figured out, and for anyone else having this problem -

1. Use http://simba.villavu.com/bin/Release/1.0/ to install simba.

2. Upon finishing installation, do not choose to launch simba. Download the zip file at https://github.com/MerlijnWajer/Simb.../tag/simba-1.0

*3. Navigate through the zip file, Simba-simba-1.0\Extensions, so you are in the extensions folder. Move the "PlayerManager.sei" file into your installed Simba Extensions folder (what you did with the first link). By default when you installed Simba this should be C:\Simba\Extensions.

4. Now launch Simba from your desktop. Click view -> extensions. Enable associate.sex, extension.sex, and srl.sex. SRL.sex should now work and you can proceed to update your SRL and SPS as usual afterwards as they should now be visible on the menu bar.

On a separate note I've changed {$I SRL/SRL.simba} to {$I srl-6/srl.simba} in my scripts due to srl6 and the new directory name change, but that doesn't seem to be enough.

Awesome, congratulations on the release. Looks like the time has come to update my GOP script :)

EDIT: I needed to restart Simba after enabling some extensions for the menu's to pop up.
Other than that I have it all setup now. Now to look into OpenGL to get that working. For anyone that wants to load RS3..

program Test;
{$Define SMART}
{$Include srl-6/srl.simba}

begin
writeln('Script started');
setupSRL;

end.

Let me look into that. Maybe I didn't add enough files to the extensions! :-)

DTM Editor does not compile for me either. I got SRL-6 to download after quite some time.. Had to download the player.sei thing manually.

If you can, can you add something that retrieves the handle to the current target? Currently, when you drag the crosshairs over a window, it prints the handle in the debug box. I want to get that handle from Simba. Any ideas?

Also. Smart.Simba might have a very very small leak (if existent) – smartPairToExistingClient() should be freeing the current smart client before trying to pair to anything. At least, I think it should be since the other client might be left hanging there?

The following lags:

{$DEFINE SMART}
{$include_once SRL-6/SRL.Simba}

var
P: TPlayer;
begin
SetupSRL;

P.loginName := '';
p.password := '';
p.isActive := true;

p.login //Adding a ( here lags simba like crazy.. aka this line becomes: p.login(
end.

I think it lags because when you add a bracket, it has to search for all the parameter for that function. Lags to the point of not responding for 3-5 seconds.

Also can we have a function like:

function str: String;
begin
writeln('hi');
end

var
P: Pointer;
f: function: string;
begin
P := natify('function str: string; begin writeln(''hello''); end;'); //would be pretty cool..

f := p;
f();
end.

I'm fairly certain I screwed something up. After I downloaded it with windows 8 and I go to enable the SRL extension I am met with this:

Loading extension Extensions\srl.sex
./PlayerManager.sei doesn't exist
Error in Simba extension compilation (Extensions\srl.sex) : Unable to find file './PlayerManager.sei' used from ''
Extension Disabled - Did not compile

Had this problem too, first updating extension.sex and after that srl.sex fixed it for me though :)

I just copied the playermanager.sei out of the zip and added in to my extensions folder, as was suggested before. :)

DTM Editor does not compile for me either. I got SRL-6 to download after quite some time.. Had to download the player.sei thing manually.

DTM Editor problem is known and has been fixed in the repository. I will release Simba 1.0.1 soon which will fix it.

If you can, can you add something that retrieves the handle to the current target? Currently, when you drag the crosshairs over a window, it prints the handle in the debug box. I want to get that handle from Simba. Any ideas?

I'll think about it.

The following lags:

{$DEFINE SMART}
{$include_once SRL-6/SRL.Simba}

var
P: TPlayer;
begin
SetupSRL;

P.loginName := '';
p.password := '';
p.isActive := true;

p.login //Adding a ( here lags simba like crazy.. aka this line becomes: p.login(
end.

Dgby, any ideas?

Not sure how/what Simba internally does when its searching for functions that its lagging but could you use something like a HashMap to hold the functions by name..?

I downloaded Simba 1.0 but where can I get SRL 6? I am having a tough time finding out information about how to just get everything downloaded and updated. Please help me with some links or info please and maybe a tutorial on using the new Simba 1.0 if anyone has started one. I took a brake from runescape since the initial release of RS3, so its been a pretty minute.
I am trying to use this to get SMART to open but not working:
{$DEFINE SMART}
{$I SRL-6/SRL.simba} //It says it can't find srl 6 so of course nothing will work and tried updating the srl in Simba but didn't work
