Hi,

This is for all the SRL-6/Simba 1.0 testers. For all the users, this is probably the last release candidate, and soon Simba 1.0 will be released to everyone!

You can find Simba 1.0-rc5 here: http://nala.villavu.com/downloads/master/4f5ce27b4758f02fc914c5f228ba76548e563708/

I suggest that, before starting simba, you unpack the new extensions and plugins.

Find all the updates extensions, plugins (SMART 8.3, OGL, SPS) and fonts (RS07, SRL6) here: http://wizzup.org/static/simba-1.0-prep/

Once several people have verified that it works for them, I will:

  • Tag Simba 1.0
  • Release Simba 1.0
  • Update online plugins,extensions,fonts
  • Update simba website

Thanks to everyone for their hard work; and sorry for the 10 day delay on my side.

Cheers,
Wizzup

When testing this should I include my OS and stuff in the event I find any bugs?

EDIT: everything is working fine for me I like the default font

The sooner you guys can download and test that everything works, the sooner we can release Simba 1.0 and SRL-6. ;) After you install rc5, extract and enable the SRL extension, extract fonts and plugins, run this script to see if it works. :)

program new;
{$DEFINE SMART}
{$i srl-6/srl.simba}

begin
clearDebug();
setupSRL();
end;

Also, @Wizzup?; can you make Lape the default interpreter for Simba 1.0?

After much more modifications than I expected I've updated the current SRL-OSR to compile and run in Lape with SMART 8.3 and Brandon's new method of handling SMART. I tested using this Simba (rc5) and everyone is running just fine.

Thank you Devs. for the speedy updates and especially for the updated plugins. :thumbsup:

Awesome work. So SRL-OSR can work on it soon as well. Is there an updater extension for srl-osr yet?

AFAIK not much work has gone into SRL-OSR since the initial release. The Devs. we have now have been working effortlessly towards pushing SRL-6 so SRL-OSR hasn't received much attention. There was recently a suggestion to update SRL-OSR to match SRL-6's standards (and possibly, hopefully include Lape) but I believe it's still up in the air.

Yes with what I did today it will work fine via Lape but as said before the whole include is in desperate need of an overhaul. :unsure:

I saw some posts about rewriting the srl-osr include. If this is true, is reflection included in the new include?

No, Reflection will always be on its own.

@wizzup
What would be nice is to have one extension for both srl6 and srl-osr, something like SRL > SRL6 > update etc, same goes for osr (SRL > SRL-OSR> update) but I don't think its a easy job since the current updater stuff wont work (AddUpdater and such).

Although awhile ago bart was maybe going to look into it, *wink wink* @masterBB

E: not sure how i somehow triple posted :s

Basic functionality tested OK here.

Installed simba
Unpacked/copied fonts, extensions, plugins
Ran simba
Enabled SRL and updated, said no to the update extensions question
SMART launched fine with test program

Having some issues with SRL6 logging a character in but I guess that's not relevant in this thread.

You likely installed 1.0 without downloading the new plugins and extensions.

You need the 32-bit version. The 64-bit doesn't work. I'll notify Wizzup? about the libffi as that's not supposed to happen.
