Hello dear members,
This is my first short guide on many to come slayer guides to give back to this great community.
Here I will just touch on some things about this beautiful beast and then you can just join in the discussion. And hey,
you never know when you might be chasing after a cockatrice!
~Cockatrice have a special stat-draining attack, which they use if the player is not wearing protective equipment. It will shoot out beams from its eyes quickly reducing combat stats (including agility) to dangerously low levels (1/4 of the player's original levels e.g. 15/60) and causes rapid damage for up to 110 life points per hit (it does more damage with higher levels). These beams always hit a fixed amount. That's why you carry the mirror shield.
If the player is protected however, they fight using standard melee and ranged attacks. They have few life points and do not hit substantially. Their attack speed is the same as a scimitar or mace. They are weak against crush attacks, although any melee weapon will suffice.~ RS WIKI source
This is just a short thread opener on the Runescape cockatrice. I think they are great. A cockatrice looks great from the design and also really good in the game. The drops are great and I love having them as the slayer task whenever I go to Canifis city to just relax a bit and talk to some persons on the friends chat.
Everybody is always jealous when I get to go after cockatrice and I am always so happy when I get the good runite drops. It is all good fun and I love Runescape and also love making this good money on Runescape with effective training of the slayer skill aswell. It fulfils my life so completely - all I need is one good load from a cockatrice to satisfy me and make my day.
I am so happy they add the cockatrice to the game, because a game without cockatrice is not a game at all! :)
Some fun fact:
In the quest Fur 'n' Seek, cockatrice skin must be collected and cleaned for the Odd Old Man.
For persons looking for the head *very rare to get*:
Cockatrice head
Equipment is necessary to avoid the stat-draining attack of the cockatrice.

PPS: I wish there was a lore on the cockatrice, because I really enjoy reading the Runescape lore and educating myself a bit about the whole story behind all the things in the game! :)
