Well, I have been looking for a good Gaming PC build for/under $1000. I have been looking around but I dont know what to go for. I am not a major computer hardware person, so this is where I need some help.

I know it may seem like I am asking a lot, but I was kinda hoping for a list. Yes, I know I posted something of the sorts a couple months ago, but now I can actually afford one and I know electronics change fast, so some help would be nice!

So, yeah. Under $1000. Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks!

Edit: Please understand that I also have never built one by myself either. I got people who can help me, but my goal is to build it by myself. :p

Will you be overclocking? What kind of games are you looking at playing? and is it USD or AUD :P

pcpartpicker is a pretty nice website to get the basic idea of what you want to build.

Overclocking? Yes. I plan on that. I am just not that familiar with it. I know there are tutorials. I look for some… And USD. :D

THanks. Never heard of it, but i will take a look.

Use an online Pc builder to make sure all your hardware will work together. Most of the good ones will tell you if its not compatible or anything.

Id suggest going online and looking around, make a basic build you are looking for, or you think would be good, Post it here, and people can give you advice on different parts/brands to replace if there is something better then what you choose :)

Sorry gross formatting. This is a fairly non-upgradable computer but would probably serve you well for 5 years at least. With the extra $$ you have left over, either upgrade the graphics card and/or add a SSD. Also, check out: www.gpuboss.com to find a good value graphics card :)

Also, this is from newegg.ca

you would need a better motherboard, but according to those tests (hopefully they are optimized systems lol) crossfire 7850's is a better setup than gtx 680, aka 2x$160 vs ~$400 (or more)

Thanks to both of you. THats aweseome and I will look into those!

Cause, thats all from newegg?

Yes, newegg.ca :)
The Fx-6350 has good reviews and good performance for the dollar value. Another nice resources is www.reddit.com/r/buildapc they always have a variety of builds for different budgets etc… (also I'd say don't skimp on the PSU or case)

Well, thanks to your suggestions, I looked into your recommended build and then took a look at Buildapc.

I decided to go with one from there.

Thanks. Its going well so far. Over half the parts have come in, but the only thing that hasnt shipped yet is the motherboard…

I have the power supply put in with my three hard drives and optical drive but I cant do anything else without the motherboard.

The main thing i am going to have issues with is installing windows. I dont know if I should RAID my hard drives or not.
